How to recover a deleted cryptocurrency wallet?
Cryptocurrency wallet recovery depends on wallet type (hot, cold, software, paper) and whether you have your seed phrase or private key. Losing these renders recovery extremely difficult.

Cryptocurrency wallet type
There are many types of cryptocurrency wallets. Hot wallets run online, with convenient transactions but poor security, and are easily attacked due to connection to the Internet.
Cold wallets are offline storage, such as hardware wallets and paper wallets, with high security factors and can effectively prevent hackers, but they are slightly inconvenient to use.
Software wallets exist in application form and can be installed on mobile phones or computers, and some of them are hot wallets. Understanding these types is critical to restoring your wallet.
Reason for wallet loss
Device failure is a common factor, such as cell phone damage and computer hard drive failure, which may cause wallet files to be unreadable. Losing mnemonics or private keys is also extremely difficult. They are the key to accessing the wallet. Once lost, it will be more difficult to retrieve the wallet.
Malware attacks cannot be underestimated. Hackers use viruses to steal wallet information, resulting in assets being stolen. Forgot your password will also make your wallet inaccessible.
Hot wallet recovery
Open the corresponding hot wallet application, and you can usually find the "Recover Wallet" or "Import Wallet" option in the interface. Follow the prompts to enter the mnemonic or private key you backed up previously. This information must be saved properly and carefully checked when entering to avoid errors.
After the input is completed, the wallet application will automatically synchronize the blockchain data to restore the assets in the wallet. When operating, ensure the safety of the environment and prevent information leakage.
Cold wallet recovery
First obtain the mnemonic or private key that came with the original cold wallet and be sure to keep it properly. On a new hardware wallet device, enter the mnemonic or private key according to the operating guide.
During the process, follow the steps strictly. After completing the recovery, carefully check whether the assets are displayed normally, and record new mnemonics or private keys in case of emergency needs.
Software wallet recovery
Download and install the software wallet application you used, be careful to obtain it from official and formal channels to avoid downloading malware. After installation, open the app, select the "Recover" or "Import Wallet" option, and enter the mnemonic or recovery phrase accurately.
If the wallet has an additional password, you need to enter the password at this time. Follow the prompts to complete the next steps to restore the wallet.
Paper wallet recovery
First, you need to find the paper wallet that records the private key to ensure that the private key is clear and identifiable. You can choose a reliable online wallet or software wallet, enter the private key on the paper wallet at the corresponding location, and import the assets.
Special attention should be paid to the choice of a formal and reputable platform to prevent private key leakage and asset losses.
Things to note after recovery
After restoring the wallet, immediately back up the mnemonic or private key. Multiple backup methods can be used to store them in different secure locations. Enable the dual-factor authentication function to further improve the security of the wallet, such as setting SMS verification codes, fingerprint recognition, etc.
Closely monitor wallet activities, check transaction records regularly, and detect abnormal transactions in a timely manner. Update your wallet software regularly to protect against the latest security threats. Avoid trading or viewing assets under public networks to prevent information from being stolen.
Mnemonic word safety guarantee
Mnemonic words are the key to restoring your wallet, and secure storage is crucial. Mnemonic words can be written on paper and placed in safe places such as safes, and must not be stored in connected devices. If you need to store it on a digital device, you need to use encryption tools to encrypt the file and set a high-strength password.
Make multiple backups and store them in different locations to prevent a single backup from being lost. Regularly check the storage status of mnemonic words to ensure that they are intact.
Try to restore the word without a mnemonic
If there are no mnemonic words, it is very difficult to restore the wallet. You can check the email when creating the wallet, and some wallets will send mnemonic words to your mailbox. Find the backup files you created when setting up your wallet before to see if you can get recovery information from it.
Use third-party recovery tools with caution and be sure to choose reputable products to prevent information leakage. Contact your wallet provider to provide relevant authentication information and try to seek help.
After recovery, transaction records are viewed
After restoring the wallet, if you use the same mnemonic, you can usually see historical transaction records. After the recovery is completed, the wallet needs to synchronize transaction data from the blockchain, which may take several minutes to several hours, depending on the network status and data volume.
Ensure the network is stable. If the network is busy, the synchronization of transaction records may slow down. If the transaction history is not displayed for a long time, try resynchronizing the wallet or checking the network connection.
Wallet displays no asset processing
If the wallet displays "No assets" after recovery, carefully confirm whether the entered mnemonic or private key is correct. Any character error may cause information mismatch. Check the device's network connection to ensure that it is connected normally. Network instability may affect asset display.
Confirm whether the recovered wallet supports the corresponding cryptocurrency, and the currencies supported by different wallets vary. Try restarting your wallet or re-importing mnemonics to see if it can solve the problem.
