How to Find Your Litecoin Receive Address in Electrum
Electrum-LTC 支持 L(legacy)、M(SegWit)和 ltc1(Bech32)三类接收地址,新钱包默认生成 M 地址以降低手续费;地址可安全公开,但复用会削弱隐私性。(154字符)
Oct 16, 2026 at 10:20 pm
Accessing the Receive Tab
1. Launch Electrum-LTC, ensuring you are using a version explicitly built for Litecoin—not Bitcoin.
2. Unlock your wallet with the correct passphrase or password if it is encrypted.
3. Navigate to the Receive tab located at the top of the main window.
4. A new address appears automatically in the address field; this is your default receive address.
5. Electrum-LTC does not reuse addresses by default—each time you click “Request”, a fresh address is generated.
Understanding Address Types
1. Electrum-LTC supports legacy (L-addresses), SegWit (M-addresses), and native SegWit (ltc1-addresses), depending on wallet creation settings.
2. Legacy addresses begin with L and are compatible with older services but incur higher fees.
3. SegWit addresses start with M and offer reduced transaction costs and improved scalability.
4. Bech32 addresses begin with ltc1 and are the most efficient for on-chain transfers, though some exchanges still lack full support.
5. The address type used is determined during wallet setup and cannot be changed without creating a new wallet.
Verifying Address Validity
1. Right-click any displayed address in the Receive tab and select “Verify” to confirm it belongs to your wallet.
2. Use the “Show QR Code” button to generate a scannable representation—cross-check its alphanumeric string with the text field.
3. Manually compare the first six and last six characters of the address across multiple displays to guard against clipboard hijacking.
4. Electrum-LTC includes built-in checksum validation: entering an invalid address into the send field triggers an immediate error.
5. Never rely solely on third-party QR generators—always generate and verify within the trusted Electrum-LTC interface.
Exporting and Reusing Addresses
1. Click “Copy” next to the address field to place it securely in your system clipboard.
2. To label an address, enter a description (e.g., “Exchange Deposit”) in the “Description” field before clicking “Save”.
3. Saved addresses appear under “Addresses” → “Receiving” in the Addresses tab, where they can be filtered and reviewed.
4. Though Electrum-LTC discourages reuse, previously generated receiving addresses remain valid indefinitely and retain full spendability.
5. Export the full list of receiving addresses via “File” → “Export” → “Addresses” to create a local backup in CSV format.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I use the same Electrum-LTC receive address for multiple deposits?Yes—you may reuse any previously generated receiving address. However, doing so reduces privacy and may complicate accounting across platforms.
Q: Why does my new Electrum-LTC wallet show an M-address instead of an L-address?Because Electrum-LTC defaults to SegWit for newly created standard wallets since version 4.0.0, prioritizing fee efficiency and network compatibility.
Q: What happens if I send Litecoin to a Bitcoin address in Electrum-LTC?The transaction will fail at broadcast due to network-level validation—the Litecoin blockchain rejects any script or format incompatible with its consensus rules.
Q: Is it safe to share my receive address publicly?Yes—receive addresses are designed to be shared. They do not expose private keys, seed phrases, or signing capability. Only sending requires authorization via private key or hardware device.
