How to Import NFT to MetaMask

Step 1: Ensure Compatibility

  • Check if your NFT is compatible with the Ethereum blockchain.
  • MetaMask supports ERC-721 and ERC-1155 token standards.

Step 2: Add the Network

  • If your NFT is on a different blockchain network, add it to MetaMask:

    • Click the "Network" dropdown in MetaMask.
    • Select "Add Network" and enter the required details.

Step 3: Import the Token

  • Go to the "Assets" tab in MetaMask.
  • Click the "Import Tokens" button.
  • Select "Custom Token" and enter the following details:

    • Token Contract Address: The unique address of the NFT's smart contract.
    • Token Symbol: The ticker symbol for the NFT (optional).
    • Decimals of Precision: 0 for most NFTs.

Step 4: Confirm Import

  • Click "Add Custom Token" to import the NFT to your wallet.
  • You should now see the NFT listed in your "Assets" tab.

Additional Notes:

  • If you purchased the NFT on a marketplace (e.g., OpenSea), you may need to transfer it to your MetaMask wallet manually.
  • NFTs are non-fungible tokens, meaning each one is unique and cannot be replicated or exchanged for another of equal value.
  • MetaMask allows you to view and manage your NFT assets, but you cannot trade or sell NFTs within the wallet itself.
