How to connect Trezor to MyEtherWallet? (ETH management)
连接Trezor硬件钱包至电脑,打开MyEtherWallet官网,选“TREZOR”解锁;PIN在设备随机键盘输入,24词助记词离线手写保存,交易须屏幕确认——安全全程离线。(155字)
Apr 16, 2026 at 10:40 am
Device Connection Procedure
1. Plug the Trezor hardware wallet into a USB port on your computer using the supplied cable.
2. Launch Google Chrome browser and navigate to https://www.myetherwallet.com — ensure the domain is exact and verified via HTTPS lock icon and official certificate.
3. Click the “Access My Wallet” button located prominently on the homepage.
4. Select the “TREZOR” option from the list of wallet interfaces — avoid third-party or unofficial connectors.
5. Confirm that the Trezor device displays “Connect TREZOR” on its screen before proceeding further.
Wallet Unlock Sequence
1. After selecting TREZOR, MEW initiates handshake protocol and prompts for device confirmation.
2. Press both buttons simultaneously on the Trezor unit to approve connection initiation.
3. Enter your PIN directly on the Trezor’s physical keypad — numbers appear in randomized order each time to prevent shoulder-surfing.
4. Wait for the device to display “Ready” followed by the wallet address list on its OLED screen.
5. Click “Unlock” in the MEW interface only after verifying the displayed Ethereum address matches the one shown on the Trezor screen.
Address Selection & Token Visibility
1. MEW loads all derived Ethereum addresses associated with the Trezor’s BIP-44 path.
2. Each address appears with its corresponding balance in ETH; no private keys ever leave the device.
3. ERC-20 tokens are not automatically visible — users must manually add token contracts using their contract address, decimals, and symbol.
4. For widely used tokens like USDT, DAI, or UNI, MEW provides a preloaded token list accessible via the “Add Token” dropdown menu.
5. Custom tokens require manual entry: paste the exact contract address from Etherscan, confirm decimal places, and input ticker symbol without spaces.
Transaction Signing Workflow
1. Fill in recipient address, amount, and gas parameters on the MEW send form.
2. Click “Generate Transaction” — MEW prepares raw transaction data but does not broadcast it.
3. Trezor displays full transaction details including destination, value, and gas fee — scroll through using side buttons if needed.
4. Press both buttons to confirm signing — the device computes ECDSA signature internally and returns it to MEW.
5. MEW broadcasts the signed transaction to the Ethereum network and displays the TX hash immediately upon success.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: Why does MEW show zero balance even though my Trezor holds ETH?MEW relies on external blockchain APIs to fetch balances. If the selected node (e.g., Infura or Cloudflare) is temporarily unreachable or misconfigured, balances won’t load. Switching to a different RPC endpoint under Settings > Network may resolve this instantly.
Q2: Can I use MEW with Trezor Model T to sign transactions on Ethereum Classic (ETC)?Yes. In MEW, go to Settings > Network and select “Ethereum Classic Mainnet”. Ensure firmware on the Model T supports ETC derivation paths — version 2.5.2 or higher is required for full compatibility.
Q3: Is it safe to enter my Trezor PIN when MEW requests it?No MEW page ever receives or processes your PIN. The PIN is entered solely on the Trezor’s secure chip. If any website asks you to type your PIN into a browser field, close the tab immediately — it is a phishing attempt.
Q4: What happens if I lose my Trezor but still have the 24-word recovery seed? You can restore full access to all assets by initializing any compatible hardware wallet — including another Trezor — using that exact sequence of words in correct order. No password or PIN is needed during initial seed restoration.
