how to connect coinbase to coinbase wallet

Connect your Coinbase account to your Coinbase Wallet app or browser extension for seamless asset management; transferring funds requires a logged-in Coinbase account and only available balances can be moved.

Mar 19, 2025 at 04:47 pm

In the world of cryptocurrencies, it is crucial to manage assets safely and efficiently. As a well-known cryptocurrency trading platform, Coinbase can provide users with a more comprehensive asset management experience. Next, we will explain in detail how to connect Coinbase to your Coinbase wallet.

Preparation

Before you start connecting, make sure you have installed the Coinbase wallet application or browser extension on your device. If it has not been installed, you can go to the official website or the corresponding app store (such as iOS App Store and Android Google Play) to download it. At the same time, make sure you are logged into your Coinbase account.

Mobile connection steps

  • Open the Coinbase Wallet app : Launch the Coinbase Wallet app on your mobile device.

  • Enter the settings page : Click the option at the bottom of the screen to enter the settings interface.

  • Select Connect to Coinbase : Find the "Connect to Coinbase" option in the settings and click.

  • Log in to Coinbase Account : Follow the prompts to enter the username and password of your Coinbase.com account to log in. If you forget your password, you can reset it through the "Forgot Password" option. After you have finished logging in, follow the next steps to complete the connection.

It should be noted that you can only transfer the available balances on Coinbase.com to the Coinbase wallet, and cryptocurrencies in the "freeze" state cannot be transferred.

Desktop connection steps

  • Open the Coinbase Wallet Extension : Open the Coinbase Wallet Extension in your web browser.

  • Click Add Cryptocurrency : Click the icon in the upper right corner of the screen and select the option to add Cryptocurrency.

  • Select Deposit through Coinbase : In the pop-up menu, select "Deposit through Coinbase".

  • Authorize Coinbase Wallet : Enter your Coinbase account information to log in, and authorize Coinbase Wallet to extend access to your account. Similarly, if you forget your password, you can reset it.

After completing the above steps, your Coinbase account is successfully connected to your Coinbase wallet. After the connection is successful, you can more easily transfer assets between the Coinbase platform and the wallet, and you can also use decentralized exchanges (such as 1inch or Uniswap) to exchange cryptocurrencies in the Coinbase wallet. But be aware that the assets in the Coinbase wallet are not held by Coinbase. When trading with the wallet, your cryptocurrency will be sent directly to a decentralized exchange that is not controlled by Coinbase.
With the above simple steps, you can easily connect Coinbase to your Coinbase wallet and enjoy more convenient and efficient cryptocurrency asset management services.
