How to bridge assets to Monad on Phantom? (Testnet Access)
To use Monad Testnet in Phantom, manually add it with RPC URL, Chain ID 1111, and tMONAD symbol—then fetch test tokens from Monad’s faucet before bridging.

Understanding Monad Testnet Integration
1. Monad is a high-throughput, EVM-compatible Layer 1 blockchain designed for parallel execution and sub-second finality. Its testnet serves as the primary environment for developers and early adopters to interact with its infrastructure before mainnet launch.
2. Phantom Wallet does not natively support Monad at the time of testnet access. Users must manually configure the network within Phantom’s settings using RPC endpoints, chain ID, and block explorer URL provided by Monad’s official documentation.
3. The testnet uses a distinct chain ID—1111—which differentiates it from Ethereum and other EVM chains. Incorrect chain ID entry will prevent wallet connectivity or transaction submission.
4. Users are required to obtain testnet MONAD tokens from Monad’s designated faucet. These tokens are non-transferable outside the testnet and hold no monetary value.
5. Network configuration must be completed before attempting any bridging action. Phantom does not auto-detect Monad, so manual RPC input remains mandatory.
Setting Up Phantom for Monad Testnet
1. Open Phantom Wallet extension or mobile app and navigate to Settings > Networks > Add Network.
2. Input the following parameters: Network Name: Monad Testnet, RPC URL: https://testnet-rpc.monad.com, Chain ID: 1111, Currency Symbol: tMONAD, Block Explorer URL: https://explorer.testnet.monad.com.
3. Save the configuration. Phantom will display “Connected to Monad Testnet” upon successful setup.
4. Confirm that the wallet address displayed matches the one used on Ethereum or other supported chains if cross-chain bridging is intended.
5. Ensure browser extensions or ad blockers do not interfere with RPC calls. Some security tools may suppress requests to non-standard domains like monad.com.
Bridging Assets via the Official Monad Bridge
1. Visit the official Monad Bridge interface at https://bridge.testnet.monad.com. This is the only sanctioned bridge for testnet asset transfers.
2. Connect Phantom Wallet to the bridge UI. The interface will detect the configured Monad Testnet network automatically if setup was correct.
3. Select source chain—currently limited to Ethereum Sepolia and Base Sepolia—and specify the token to bridge, such as ETH or USDC on those testnets.
4. Enter the amount and confirm the transaction in Phantom. Gas fees are paid in the source chain’s native token; no tMONAD is required for bridging initiation.
5. Wait for confirmation. Finality on Monad occurs in under one second, but cross-chain message relaying introduces variable delays depending on source chain block times and relay node uptime.
Verifying Bridged Assets in Phantom
1. After bridging completes, switch Phantom to the Monad Testnet network view. The balance section should reflect newly received assets.
2. Check the transaction hash on https://explorer.testnet.monad.com to verify inclusion in a Monad block and confirm destination address accuracy.
3. If tokens do not appear, ensure the token contract address on Monad matches the one published in Monad’s verified contracts repository. Phantom does not auto-import unknown ERC-20 tokens.
4. Manually add the token using its Monad testnet contract address, decimals (18), and symbol. This step is necessary for non-native assets like bridged USDC.
5. Monitor pending transactions in Phantom’s activity tab. Failed or stuck transfers often stem from insufficient gas on the source chain or incorrect allowance approvals.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I use MetaMask instead of Phantom to bridge to Monad Testnet?A: Yes. The official bridge supports MetaMask, Rabby, and other EIP-1193 compliant wallets. Phantom is not exclusive, though its UI integration is optimized for simplicity.
Q: Why does my bridged ETH show zero balance after confirmation?A: This typically occurs when the token is not manually added to Phantom. ETH is native, but wrapped or bridged versions require custom token import using the correct Monad testnet contract address.
Q: Is there a minimum or maximum amount I can bridge on testnet?A: No fixed limits exist on testnet. However, bridge relayers may impose temporary caps based on operational load or testing objectives outlined in Monad’s GitHub announcements.
Q: Do I need to approve each token separately before bridging?A: Yes. Every ERC-20 token requires a one-time approval transaction on its source chain before initiating a bridge. This is standard EVM behavior and applies identically on Sepolia and Base Sepolia.
