How to authorize Ouyi OKEX wallet API
API Authorization on Ouyi OKEX empowers external applications with automation, data retrieval, and third-party integration capabilities, enhancing trading strategies and portfolio management.
Dec 19, 2024 at 03:06 pm
- Understand the purpose and benefits of API authorization.
- Create an API key on the Ouyi OKEX platform.
- Set appropriate permissions for the API key.
- Test the API key to ensure it is working correctly.
- Revoke API access when necessary.
API (Application Programming Interface) authorization allows external applications to interact with your Ouyi OKEX wallet. It provides a secure way to access your wallet data and execute trades without manually inputting sensitive information. API authorization benefits include:
- Automation: Automate trading strategies, such as arbitrage or high-frequency trading.
- Data retrieval: Get real-time trading data, account balances, and order information.
- Third-party integration: Connect your Ouyi OKEX wallet to other trading platforms, analysis tools, and mobile apps.
To create an API key:
- Log into your Ouyi OKEX account.
- Navigate to [API Management](https://www.okex.com/account/api-key) under the "Account" menu.
- Click "Create API Key."
- Enter a label for your API key (e.g., "My Trading API").
- Select the permissions you want to grant to the API key.
- Set a safe password or passphrase for the API key.
- Click "Create."
When creating an API key, you need to select the permissions it will have. Choose only the permissions necessary for your intended purpose. Common permissions include:
- Trading: Allows the API key to place, cancel, and modify orders.
- Account: Grants access to account balances, order history, and trading fees.
- Data: Permits the API key to retrieve real-time market data, trading history, and other information.
Once you have created an API key, test it to make sure it is working correctly. Use a testing tool, such as [Postman](https://www.postman.com/), to send an API request to your Ouyi OKEX wallet. If the request is successful, you will receive a response containing the requested data.
5. Revoke API Access When Necessary:If you no longer need an API key, or if it has been compromised, revoke its access immediately. To revoke API access:
- Log into your Ouyi OKEX account.
- Navigate to [API Management](https://www.okex.com/account/api-key).
- Locate the API key you want to revoke.
- Click "Revoke" and confirm your action.
- Unauthorized access to your wallet funds.
- Data breach if the API key is compromised.
- System errors or downtime that could impact the API's functionality.
- Use a strong password or passphrase.
- Only grant necessary permissions to the API key.
- Keep your API key confidential and do not share it with anyone.
- Revoke API access promptly if it is compromised or no longer needed.
- Yes, but it is not recommended. Each platform should have its own dedicated API key with appropriate permissions.
- Revoke API access immediately.
- Reset your Ouyi OKEX account password.
- Inform the relevant authorities if necessary.
