How to add and manage ERC-20 tokens?
ERC-20 tokens, ubiquitous on the Ethereum blockchain, conform to a standardized set of rules governing their creation, transfer, and utilization.

ERC-20 tokens are a standard type of cryptocurrency token that runs on the Ethereum blockchain. They follow a set of rules that define how they are created, transferred, and used. ERC-20 tokens can represent a wide range of assets, including digital currencies, utility tokens, and security tokens.
Prerequisites for Adding an ERC-20 TokenBefore you can add an ERC-20 token to your wallet, you will need to have:
- An Ethereum wallet: This will allow you to store and manage your ERC-20 tokens.
- The token contract address: This is a unique identifier for the ERC-20 token you want to add.
- Some ETH: You will need some ETH to pay for the gas fees associated with adding the token to your wallet.
- Open your Ethereum wallet: Select the wallet that you want to use to store your ERC-20 tokens.
- Find the "Add Token" option: This option may be located in the wallet's settings or under a menu option.
- Enter the token contract address: In the "Add Token" dialog box, enter the token contract address for the ERC-20 token you want to add.
- Verify the token information: The wallet will automatically populate the token information, including the token name, symbol, and decimals. Verify that the information is correct.
- Add the token: Click the "Add Token" button to add the ERC-20 token to your wallet.
Once you have added an ERC-20 token to your wallet, you can manage it in the same way as other cryptocurrencies. This includes:
- Sending and receiving tokens: You can send and receive ERC-20 tokens to and from other wallets.
- Checking your balance: You can view your ERC-20 token balance in your wallet.
- Managing your tokens: You can manage your ERC-20 tokens by editing their settings, hiding them from the main wallet view, or deleting them from your wallet.
- What is the difference between ERC-20 tokens and ERC-721 tokens? ERC-20 tokens are fungible tokens, meaning that they can be divided into smaller units and exchanged for other ERC-20 tokens. ERC-721 tokens are non-fungible tokens, meaning that they are unique and cannot be divided.
- Can I add any ERC-20 token to my wallet? Not all wallets support all ERC-20 tokens. Check the documentation for your wallet to see which tokens it supports.
- What are gas fees? Gas fees are a fee that is paid to miners for processing transactions on the Ethereum blockchain. The gas fee will vary depending on the complexity of the transaction and the current network congestion.
