How to Add the Liquid Network Mainnet to MetaMask
MetaMask is a popular cryptocurrency wallet that allows users to interact with the Ethereum blockchain and other compatible networks. Liquid Network is a sidechain of Bitcoin that offers faster and more confidential transactions while leveraging the security of the Bitcoin network. By adding the Liquid Network mainnet to MetaMask, users can access and manage their Liquid assets directly within the familiar MetaMask interface.
Prerequisites:
- MetaMask wallet installed as a browser extension
- Liquid Network compatible wallet address
- Liquid Network mainnet RPC endpoint
Steps:
- Open the MetaMask Extension:
Launch the MetaMask browser extension and click on the three-line icon in the top-right corner of the window.
- Navigate to Settings:
From the dropdown menu, select "Settings."
- Access Networks:
In the Settings page, click on the "Networks" tab in the sidebar on the left.
- Add a New Network:
Click on the "Add Network" button at the top of the page. A form will appear where you can specify the network details.
- Enter Network Information:
Fill in the following information in the form:
- Network Name: Liquid Mainnet
- New RPC URL: https://rpc.liquid.net
- Chain ID: 230
- Currency Symbol: L-BTC
- Block Explorer URL: https://explorer.liquid.net
- Save Changes:
Click on the "Save" button to add the Liquid Network mainnet to MetaMask.
- Switch to Liquid Network:
Once the network has been added, you can switch to it by clicking on the network name in the dropdown list at the top of the MetaMask window.
- Access Liquid Assets:
With the Liquid Network mainnet selected, you can import your Liquid Network compatible wallet address and access your Liquid assets directly within MetaMask. You can send, receive, and manage L-BTC and other Liquid-based assets seamlessly.
Additional Notes:
- Ensure that you have a compatible Liquid Network wallet address before adding the mainnet to MetaMask.
- Double-check the network information you enter to avoid any connection issues.
- Liquid Network transactions may incur additional fees compared to Bitcoin transactions.
- MetaMask does not support all Liquid Network features; refer to the official Liquid Network documentation for more information on its capabilities.
