How to Add the Hyperledger Fabric Mainnet to MetaMask
MetaMask is a popular cryptocurrency wallet that can be used to store, send, and receive cryptocurrencies. It also supports connecting to various blockchains, including the Hyperledger Fabric mainnet. Adding the Hyperledger Fabric mainnet to MetaMask allows you to interact with decentralized applications (dApps) built on the Hyperledger Fabric blockchain.
Prerequisites
Before you can add the Hyperledger Fabric mainnet to MetaMask, you will need to have the following:
- A MetaMask wallet installed
- An RPC endpoint for the Hyperledger Fabric mainnet
- The public key of the Hyperledger Fabric mainnet CA
Steps
- Install MetaMask
If you do not already have MetaMask installed, you can download it from the official website: https://metamask.io/.
- Add the Hyperledger Fabric Mainnet RPC Endpoint
Once you have MetaMask installed, you need to add the Hyperledger Fabric mainnet RPC endpoint. To do this, click on the "Settings" tab in MetaMask and then select the "Networks" tab.
Click on the "Add Network" button and enter the following information:
- Network Name: Hyperledger Fabric Mainnet
- RPC URL: https://rpc.hyperledger.org
- Chain ID: 1
- Currency Symbol: FAB
- Block Explorer URL: https://explorer.hyperledger.org
- Import the Hyperledger Fabric Mainnet CA Public Key
Next, you need to import the public key of the Hyperledger Fabric mainnet CA. To do this, click on the "Import Account" button in MetaMask and select the "Custom RPC" option.
Enter the following information:
- RPC URL: https://rpc.hyperledger.org
- Chain ID: 1
- Currency Symbol: FAB
- Block Explorer URL: https://explorer.hyperledger.org
- CA Public Key: 0x... (replace this with the public key of the Hyperledger Fabric mainnet CA)
- Add a New Account
Once you have imported the CA public key, you can add a new account to MetaMask. To do this, click on the "Account" tab in MetaMask and then click on the "Create Account" button.
- Select the Hyperledger Fabric Mainnet
When creating a new account, you will need to select the Hyperledger Fabric mainnet. To do this, click on the "Network" dropdown menu and select "Hyperledger Fabric Mainnet".
- Configure the Account Settings
Once you have selected the Hyperledger Fabric mainnet, you can configure the account settings. You can choose to generate a new private key or import an existing private key.
- Confirm the Account
Once you have configured the account settings, you will need to confirm the account. To do this, click on the "Confirm" button.
- Use MetaMask to Interact with Hyperledger Fabric
Once you have added the Hyperledger Fabric mainnet to MetaMask, you can use MetaMask to interact with dApps built on the Hyperledger Fabric blockchain. To do this, simply open the dApp in your browser and connect your MetaMask wallet.
