how to add hedera network to metamask
By connecting MetaMask to the Hedera network, users can seamlessly interact with dApps, trade HBAR tokens, and manage their Hedera-based assets from within the familiar MetaMask interface.
Nov 05, 2024 at 01:04 pm
- Visit the MetaMask website (https://metamask.io/download/) and download the extension compatible with your browser.
- Create a new MetaMask wallet or import an existing one.
- Click the "Settings" icon in MetaMask (a gear icon).
- Select "Networks" from the left sidebar.
- Scroll down and click "Add Network."
Enter the following information:
- Network Name: Hedera Mainnet
- New RPC URL: https://mainnet.hedera.com:50211
- Chain ID: 0
- Currency Symbol: HBAR
- Block Explorer URL: https://explorer.hedera.com
- Click "Save."
- Select "Hedera Mainnet" from the network dropdown menu in the MetaMask interface to switch to the Hedera network.
- To interact with the Hedera blockchain, you will need some HBAR tokens.
- Send HBAR tokens to your MetaMask wallet address from an exchange or another wallet that supports Hedera.
- Ensure that you are on the Hedera Mainnet network when sending and receiving HBAR tokens.
- MetaMask will now allow you to interact with decentralized applications (dApps) and smart contracts on the Hedera network.
- Use the MetaMask interface to connect to dApps, sign transactions, and manage your HBAR balance.
By following these steps, you have successfully added the Hedera network to your MetaMask wallet. This will enable you to interact with the Hedera ecosystem, including sending and receiving HBAR tokens and accessing dApps built on the Hedera blockchain.
