How to Add the Balancer Mainnet to MetaMask
Introduction:
Balancer is a decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) that operates a non-custodial exchange for trading cryptocurrencies. The Balancer protocol enables users to create their own custom-weighted index funds called "pools" and to provide liquidity to these pools in exchange for trading fees. By adding the Balancer mainnet to MetaMask, you can access decentralized trading, liquidity provision, and other DeFi services offered by the Balancer protocol.
Steps:
Install MetaMask:
- Start by installing the MetaMask browser extension or mobile app. MetaMask is a popular cryptocurrency wallet and dApp browser that is used to interact with decentralized applications and store cryptocurrencies.
Create or Import a MetaMask Wallet:
- If you don't already have a MetaMask wallet, you will need to create one. If you have an existing wallet, you can import it using the seed phrase or private key.
Connect to the Balancer Mainnet:
Open MetaMask and click on the "Networks" tab. Click on the "Add Network" button and enter the following details:
- Network Name: Balancer
- RPC URL: https://polygon-rpc.balancer.fi
- Chain ID: 100
- Currency Symbol: BAL
- Block Explorer URL: https://explorer.balancer.fi
- Click on the "Save" button to add the Balancer mainnet to MetaMask.
Add the BAL Token to MetaMask:
- Click on the "Assets" tab in MetaMask.
- Click on the "Add Token" button.
- Search for "Balancer (BAL)" and click on it.
- Click on the "Add Token" button to add BAL to your wallet.
Verify the Network and Token:
- Make sure that the network is set to "Balancer" in MetaMask.
- Check that the BAL token is visible in your wallet.

- Ensure that you are connected to the correct network (Balancer mainnet).
