How to Add Arbitrum to MetaMask

Arbitrum is a Layer 2 scaling solution for Ethereum that offers significantly faster transaction speeds and lower fees. By adding Arbitrum to your MetaMask wallet, you can access and use Arbitrum-based decentralized applications (dApps).

Step 1: Install the Arbitrum Bridge
  • Visit the Arbitrum website and click the "Bridge" tab.
  • On the bridge page, click "Open in MetaMask."
Step 2: Set up the Arbitrum Network
  • Once the bridge is open in MetaMask, click "Next."
  • Enter a user-friendly name for the Arbitrum network, such as "Arbitrum Testnet."
  • Click "Save" to add the Arbitrum network to MetaMask.
Step 3: Transfer Funds to Arbitrum
  • Go to the "Assets" tab in MetaMask.
  • Click "Send."
  • Select "Arbitrum Testnet" as the destination network.
  • Enter the amount of funds you want to transfer.
  • Click "Next," then "Confirm" to initiate the transfer.
Step 4: Monitor the Transaction
  • The transaction will take a few minutes to complete.
  • You can track its progress in the "Activity" tab of MetaMask.
Step 5: Switch to Arbitrum Network
  • Once the transaction is successful, click the network selector in the top-right corner of MetaMask.
  • Select the newly added "Arbitrum Testnet" network.
Congratulations! You have successfully added Arbitrum to your MetaMask wallet and can now use Arbitrum-based dApps.
