How to Add Aion Mainnet (AION) to MetaMask: A Step-by-Step Guide
MetaMask is a popular software cryptocurrency wallet used to interact with the Ethereum blockchain and other compatible networks. This guide will provide detailed instructions on how to add the Aion Mainnet (AION) to your MetaMask wallet, allowing you to hold, send, and receive AION tokens and interact with Aion-based decentralized applications (dApps).
Step 1: Install MetaMask
- If you haven't already, install MetaMask as a browser extension or mobile app. Visit the MetaMask website to download the appropriate version for your device and browser.
Step 2: Create or Import a Wallet
- If you're a new user, create a new MetaMask wallet by following the on-screen instructions. If you already have an existing wallet, import it using your private key or recovery phrase.
Step 3: Add the Aion Mainnet (AION) Network
- Open your MetaMask wallet and click on the "Networks" tab.
- Click on the "Add Network" button.
Enter the following details:
- Network Name: Aion Mainnet
- RPC URL: https://mainnet.aion.network:8545
- Chain ID: 1
- Currency Symbol: AION
- Block Explorer URL: https://mainnet.aion.network:8545
- Click "Save" to add the AION network.
Step 4: Import AION Tokens (Optional)
- If you already have AION tokens stored in another wallet, you can import them into MetaMask.
- Click on the "Import Tokens" button.
- Enter the contract address for AION: 0xAionIQN90P50xJdL6uzPQDnVvteAZnU9RJUy6n9R
Step 5: Interact with Aion-based dApps
- Once you have AION tokens in your MetaMask wallet, you can interact with Aion-based decentralized applications (dApps).
- Browse the Aion dApp ecosystem and select the dApp you want to connect to.
- Follow the dApp's instructions to connect your MetaMask wallet and interact with the app.
Additional Notes:
- Ensure that you are using the correct network (Aion Mainnet) before sending or receiving AION tokens.
- Keep your private key and recovery phrase secure to prevent unauthorized access to your wallet.
- Aion Mainnet is a separate blockchain network from Ethereum Mainnet. You cannot send AION tokens directly to Ethereum addresses or vice versa.
