How to view realized PNL on Bybit? (Trading analytics)
To view realized PNL on Bybit, log in, go to Trade History → Analytics tab, verify account type and date range, and note that totals reflect only closed positions—fees deducted, funding excluded.
Mar 13, 2026 at 10:40 am
Accessing Trading Analytics Dashboard
1. Log into your Bybit account using verified credentials and navigate to the top-right corner of the interface.
2. Click the user profile icon and select Trade History from the dropdown menu.
3. On the Trade History page, locate and click the Analytics tab positioned horizontally above the transaction table.
4. Ensure you are viewing the correct trading account type—Unified Trading Account or Classic Contract Account—as realized PNL calculation logic differs between them.
5. Confirm the date range filter is set appropriately; default may show only the last 7 days, but realized PNL aggregates across closed positions within the selected window.
Understanding Realized PNL Display Logic
1. Realized PNL appears as a cumulative sum in the Total PnL column under the Analytics dashboard’s summary card.
2. Each closed position contributes to this value based on entry price, exit price, contract size, and fee deductions—not including open positions or unrealized fluctuations.
3. For inverse perpetual contracts, realized PNL is denominated in the base asset (e.g., BTC), while for USDT-margined instruments, it reflects in USDT.
4. The platform excludes funding payments from realized PNL; those appear separately under Funding History and do not affect the final settled profit or loss.
5. If margin mode is cross, realized PNL still calculates per-position closure and does not blend with equity changes from other active trades.
Navigating Position-Specific Realized Data
1. Return to the Trade History section and apply filters such as “Closed” status and “Perpetual” or “Delivery” instrument type.
2. Locate the PnL column in the resulting table—this displays individual realized values for each executed close order.
3. Hover over any PnL cell to reveal a tooltip showing breakdown: entry price, exit price, size, fees, and net result before and after commission.
4. Export functionality allows CSV download of all closed trades, preserving timestamps, order IDs, and exact realized PNL figures for external reconciliation.
5. Sorting by the PnL column in descending order highlights top-performing closures, enabling quick identification of high-margin exits or repeated loss patterns.
Reconciling Realized PNL Across Interfaces
1. Cross-check the Analytics dashboard total against the sum of visible PnL entries in Trade History—discrepancies may indicate filtered date ranges or excluded account subtypes.
2. Visit the Wallet Fund History section and search for “PnL”-tagged records; each corresponds to a realized settlement event with timestamp alignment to trade closure.
3. In Unified Trading Account, realized PNL directly impacts available balance upon position close, reflected instantly in the wallet’s Equity line without delay.
4. Avoid conflating realized PNL with RPL (Realized Profit/Loss) shown in tax reporting tools—Bybit’s native analytics do not auto-categorize for jurisdictional compliance.
5. Manual ledger entries must include fee deductions, which Bybit applies pre-PnL calculation and lists separately in both trade detail and fund history logs.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Does Bybit include insurance fund contributions in realized PNL?A: No. Insurance fund debits or credits occur only during liquidations and are recorded independently under Wallet Fund History—not part of realized PNL computation.
Q: Can I view realized PNL for options trades on the same Analytics dashboard?A: Yes. Options positions appear in Trade History when expired or exercised; their realized PNL is calculated at settlement and included in the Analytics summary if within the selected date range.
Q: Why does my realized PNL differ from the value shown in my API response for /v5/position/executions?A: The API returns raw execution data; realized PNL requires aggregation of matching buy/sell pairs and fee subtraction—clients must replicate Bybit’s internal formula to match dashboard totals.
Q: Is realized PNL adjusted for slippage on market closes?A: Yes. The final executed price—not the intended trigger or limit price—is used exclusively in the PnL equation, making slippage an inherent component of the realized figure.
