How to transfer Ethereum from Coinbase to Binance?

To transfer Ethereum from Coinbase to Binance, you must first obtain the Binance recharge address, and then initiate a withdrawal in Coinbase, paying attention to the handling fee and network congestion risks.

Mar 28, 2025 at 03:20 pm

In the world of cryptocurrencies, users often have the need to transfer assets between different trading platforms. If you own Ethereum and want to transfer it from Coinbase to Binance, here is a detailed tutorial.

Preparation

Have a Binance account

If you have not registered with Binance, you need to go to Binance's official website, click the "Register" button, follow the prompts to enter your email address, set your password and complete verification code verification. After successful registration, the identity verification is completed according to the platform's requirements, which usually includes steps such as providing ID card photos and facial recognition to ensure the security and compliance of the account.

Confirm that the Coinbase account has an Ethereum balance

Log in to your Coinbase account and view the balance of Ethereum (ETH) on the Assets page to ensure that there is enough amount for transfer. At the same time, check whether the Coinbase account has completed the necessary security settings, such as enabling two-step verification, to prevent the account from being stolen.

Specific steps to transfer Ethereum

Get the Binance Ethereum recharge address

Log in to your Binance account, enter the fund interface, select the "Recharge" option, and select "Ethereum (ETH)" in the pop-up recharge currency list. At this time, Binance will generate an exclusive Ethereum recharge address. Be sure to carefully check the address information to ensure accuracy, because once blockchain transactions are confirmed, they cannot be withdrawn.

Initiate withdrawals in Coinbase

Return to the Coinbase account, find the location of the Ethereum assets and click the "Get Withdrawal" button. On the withdrawal page, select the withdrawal method as "External Wallet" and paste the Ethereum recharge address you just obtained in Binance into the corresponding input box. Enter the number of Ethereum to be transferred, and Coinbase may prompt you to enter the transaction password, verification code, or perform two-step verification to complete the operation as required.

Confirm the transaction

Carefully check the withdrawal information, including the target address, withdrawal amount, etc. After confirming that, click the "Confirm Withdrawal" button. Coinbase will process transactions based on the congestion of the Ethereum network. It usually takes a while before the transaction can be confirmed by the blockchain network. During this period, you can view the transaction status in Coinbase's transaction history.

Things to note

Transaction fee

Both Coinbase and Binance charge a certain handling fee for transfers to Ethereum. Coinbase's handling fee standards may vary depending on the withdrawal amount, network status and other factors. When initiating a withdrawal, the page will clearly display the amount of the handling fee to be paid for this transaction. When Binance receives Ethereum, it may also charge a small network handling fee. The specific fee can be checked on the Binance official website.

Network congestion risk

The Ethereum network sometimes experiences congestion, resulting in an extended transaction confirmation time. During network congestion, transactions can take hours or even days to complete confirmation. If you encounter this situation, you don’t need to panic and wait patiently, or you can appropriately increase the transaction fee to speed up the transaction confirmation speed.
Transfer Ethereum from Coinbase to Binance, follow the above steps, and pay attention to factors such as handling fees and network conditions, and you can successfully complete the asset transfer. Be cautious when performing any cryptocurrency operations to ensure the security of assets.
