How to transfer ADA from Kraken to Coinbase?

Transferring ADA from Kraken to Coinbase Optimize asset management: confirm account status, initiate withdrawals from Kraken, obtain Coinbase address, complete settings and wait for the transaction to complete.

Mar 28, 2025 at 03:42 pm

In the world of cryptocurrencies, flexible transfer of assets is an operation that investors often face. If you hold Cardano (ADA) and want to transfer from Kraken to Coinbase, here are detailed steps guides. Kraken and Coinbase are both well-known cryptocurrency trading platforms, the former is known for its rich trading pairs and strong security, while the latter is known for its ease of use and a wide user base. Moving ADA from Kraken to Coinbase can help you better manage assets and take advantage of different platforms.

1. Confirm the account status

Before starting the transfer, make sure you have both Kraken and Coinbase accounts, and both accounts have completed the necessary security verification steps such as real-name authentication. In a Kraken account, check to see if you have a sufficient number of ADAs for transfers, and also confirm that the Coinbase account is ready to receive assets.

2. Initiate withdrawal from Kraken

  • Log in to your Kraken account and enter the account interface.

  • Click the "Funds" tab above the page, which is usually used to manage the deposit and withdrawal of funds.

  • Under the Cryptocurrency tab, find Cardano (ADA), and click the Extract button. A window will pop up to set up information about withdrawals.

3. Obtain the ADA wallet address of Coinbase

  • Log in to the Coinbase account and go to the main interface.

  • Click the "Send/Receive" button in the upper right corner of the page.

  • In the pop-up interface, select the "Receive" option.

  • Make sure the selected receive currency is ADA. At this time, the page will display your Coinbase ADA wallet address. Copy this address, which is the key information for receiving ADA.

4. Complete withdrawal settings in Kraken

  • In Kraken withdrawal pop-up window, paste the wallet address you just copied from Coinbase to the specified location. To ensure the security of the funds, it is important to carefully check the accuracy of the address, and once submitted, the transaction will not be withdrawn.

  • Enter the number of ADAs you want to transfer. Note that Kraken may set a minimum amount limit on withdrawals, and a certain withdrawal fee will be charged. The specific amount of the handling fee can be viewed in Kraken's help document or withdrawal page.

  • After confirming the withdrawal address and amount again, click the "Extract" button. The system may ask you to enter secondary verification information (such as Google verification code, etc.) to increase the security of the transaction.

5. Wait for the transaction to be completed

After completing the above steps, ADA begins to transfer from Kraken to Coinbase. The time required for this process varies depending on the blockchain network congestion and the processing speed of Kraken, and may generally take several minutes to several hours. You can view the withdrawal status in Kraken's transaction history, or wait for assets to arrive in your Coinbase account. When the asset successfully reaches Coinbase, you can see the corresponding number of ADAs in the Coinbase account balance.
Through the above steps, you can successfully transfer ADA from Kraken to Coinbase. During the operation, be sure to carefully check all information to ensure the safety of the assets. If you encounter any problems during the transfer process, you can contact the customer service of both platforms for help at any time.
