How to Set Up Google Authenticator for Bybit

Step 1: Install Google Authenticator

  • Download and install the Google Authenticator app on your mobile device. It's available on the App Store (iOS) and Google Play Store (Android).

Step 2: Enable 2FA on Bybit

  • Log in to your Bybit account.
  • Hover over your profile icon in the top right corner and select "Security Center."
  • Click on "Two-Factor Authentication."
  • Choose "Enable" for "Google Authentication."

Step 3: Scan the QR Code

  • Open the Google Authenticator app.
  • Tap the "+" button in the bottom right corner.
  • Select "Scan Barcode."
  • Use your device's camera to scan the QR code displayed on Bybit.

Step 4: Input Security Code

  • Google Authenticator will generate a 6-digit security code.
  • Enter this code in the "Verification code" field on Bybit.

Step 5: Confirm

  • If the code is correct, it will turn green and the "Confirm" button will be enabled.
  • Click on "Confirm" to complete the setup.

Step 6: Manual Entry (Optional)

  • If the QR code scanning method is unavailable, you can manually enter the secret key displayed on Bybit.
  • Open Google Authenticator and tap the "+" button.
  • Select "Enter a setup key."
  • Enter the secret key and your account name.
  • Click "Add."

Step 7: Backup Codes

  • When you enable 2FA, Bybit will provide you with 10 backup codes.
  • Keep these codes safely as they can be used to recover your account in case you lose access to your device.
