How to send USDT from Kraken to Gemini?

In the world of cryptocurrencies, asset transfer is a common operation. This article will provide you with a clear guide on how to send USDT from Kraken to Gemini.

Confirm the account status

Before performing any operations, make sure that you have completed the registration, identity verification and other processes on the Kraken and Gemini platforms, and that the accounts of both platforms are in normal condition and there are no problems such as being frozen or restricted transactions.

Check USDT network type

USDT can be operated based on a variety of blockchain protocols, such as Ethereum (ERC-20), TRON (TRC-20), Binance Smart Chain (BEP-20), etc. On the Kraken platform, find your USDT assets and view their corresponding blockchain network type. At the same time, log in to the Gemini platform and confirm the network type supported by receiving USDT, and be sure to ensure that the two are consistent. For example, if the USDT on Kraken is based on the TRC-20 network, then Gemini also needs to support USDT reception of the TRC-20 network, otherwise it may lead to asset loss.

Initiate a transfer in Kraken

  • Log in to your Kraken account and go to the Fund Management or Wallet page.

  • Find the USDT asset and click the "Cash Withdraw" or "Send" buttons.

  • In the pop-up transfer page, fill in the following information:

    • Receive address : Go to the Gemini platform, find the wallet address that receives USDT and copy it, and paste it in the receiving address bar of Kraken. Note that the address must be accurate and check it several times, because once the blockchain transaction is confirmed, it cannot be withdrawn.

    • Transfer amount : Enter the amount of USDT you want to send. It should be noted that some platforms may have restrictions on the minimum and maximum transfer amounts, and it is necessary to ensure that the amount entered is within the specified range.

    • Network selection : Re-confirm to select the USDT network type that is compatible with the Gemini platform, such as ERC-20, TRC-20, etc. mentioned above.

  • Confirm the handling fee information. Different blockchain network processing fees are different. For example, ERC-20 network consumes Ethereum (ETH) as miner fee, which is relatively high but has strong network reliability; TRC-20 network consumes Tron Coin (TRX) as miner fee, which is low and fast. Kraken will display the amount of the expected handling fee charged for this transfer. After confirming that it is correct, click the "Submit" or "Confirm Transfer" button.

After completing the transfer operation of Kraken, return to the Gemini platform. The time of asset arrival depends on the congestion of the selected blockchain network and the handling fee settings. Generally speaking, TRC-20 network transfer speed is faster and may be able to get the money within a few minutes; while ERC-20 network may take dozens of minutes or even longer when the network is congested. You can check the USDT's arrival status on the Gemini platform's transaction history or wallet page.

Every step in the USDT transfer from Kraken to Gemini is crucial, and it is important to carefully check the information to ensure the operation is correct to ensure the asset is safe.
