How to Lock Coinbase Account

Coinbase, a cryptocurrency exchange, allows users to protect their accounts with an additional layer of security by enabling a lock feature. Locking your account on Coinbase will temporarily disable trading, sending, receiving, and withdrawing of funds, making it more difficult for unauthorized individuals to access your account.

Steps to Lock Coinbase Account:

  1. Log into your Coinbase account.
  2. Click on your profile icon located in the top right corner of the screen.
  3. Select "Settings" from the drop-down menu.
  4. Navigate to the "Security" tab.
  5. Scroll down to the "Lock" section.
  6. Click on the "Lock" button.
  7. Confirm the lock by entering your account password.

Note: Once your account is locked, you can still view your balance and account history. However, all transactions will be disabled.

To unlock your Coinbase account:

  1. Follow steps 1-3 above.
  2. Scroll down to the "Lock" section and click on the "Unlock" button.
  3. Enter your account password to confirm.

Important Considerations:

  • Locking your Coinbase account is a voluntary security measure. You can lock and unlock your account as often as needed.
  • When you lock your account, it will remain locked even if you log out and back in.
  • If you lose your password or get locked out of your account, Coinbase may require additional steps to regain access.
