How to link a phone number to Bybit? (Security link)
To bind a phone number on Bybit: log in, go to Security Center → Account Security, click *Bind*, enter your number with country code, verify the SMS code, and confirm.
Mar 28, 2026 at 11:59 pm
Accessing the Security Settings
1. Log in to your Bybit account using your registered email and password.
- Navigate to the top-right corner of the dashboard and click on your profile icon.
- Select Security Center from the dropdown menu.
- Ensure you are on the Account Security tab within the Security Center interface.
- Locate the Phone Number section, which displays current status and binding options.
Initiating Phone Number Binding
1. Click the Bind button next to the Phone Number field.
- Enter your full phone number including country code in the designated input field.
- Bybit will send a six-digit SMS verification code to the provided number.
- Input the received code into the verification field within two minutes before expiration.
- Confirm submission by clicking Verify; successful binding triggers an on-screen success message.
Handling Verification Failures
1. If the SMS does not arrive within 60 seconds, click Resend Code to trigger a new delivery.
- Verify that the entered number matches your active mobile device and supports SMS reception.
- Check for carrier-level blocks or spam filters that may intercept the message.
- Avoid using virtual numbers, VoIP services, or temporary SMS platforms as they are unsupported.
- Reattempt binding only after confirming network connectivity and correct number formatting.
Two-Factor Authentication Integration
1. Once bound, the phone number becomes eligible for use in SMS-based two-factor authentication (2FA).
- Go to the Two-Factor Authentication section in Security Center to enable SMS 2FA.
- Disable Google Authenticator or email 2FA before activating SMS 2FA if multiple methods conflict.
- Each login attempt will require entering the one-time code sent via SMS to the verified number.
- Loss of access to the linked phone triggers mandatory identity verification through Bybit’s support escalation path.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I bind more than one phone number to a single Bybit account?A: No. Bybit permits only one active phone number per account for security consistency and fraud prevention.
Q: What happens if I change my SIM card but keep the same number?A: The binding remains valid as long as the number itself is unchanged and functional for SMS receipt.
Q: Is it possible to remove a phone number without replacing it with another?A: Removal requires completing identity verification via live video call or document upload; unbinding leaves the account without SMS recovery capability.
Q: Why does Bybit reject my number during binding even though it's correct?A: Rejection occurs if the number is already registered to another Bybit account, flagged for suspicious activity, or belongs to a restricted jurisdiction.
