How to Link Google Authenticator to Kucoin
Step 1: Install Google Authenticator
Download the Google Authenticator app for your iOS or Android device from the App Store or Google Play Store.
Step 2: Enable 2FA on Kucoin
- Log in to your Kucoin account.
- Click on the "Account" icon in the top right corner.
- Select "Security Settings."
- Click on the "Google Authenticator" tab.
Step 3: Scan QR Code
- Open the Google Authenticator app on your device.
- Click on the "+" icon and select "Scan QR code."
- Scan the QR code displayed on the Kucoin website.
Step 4: Set Up Recovery Code
- After scanning the QR code, write down the 10-digit backup code provided on the Kucoin website. This code will allow you to recover your account if you lose access to your device.
Step 5: Enter Code
- Google Authenticator will generate a 6-digit verification code every 30 seconds.
- Enter the current 6-digit code into the "Code" field on the Kucoin website.
Step 6: Enable 2FA
- Click on the "Enable Google Authenticator" button.
- Enter your Kucoin account password to confirm the action.
Step 7: Verify
- You will be prompted to enter the Google Authenticator verification code again. Enter the current 6-digit code.
- Once verified, 2FA will be enabled for your Kucoin account.
Additional Tips:
- Keep your recovery code safe and accessible.
- Store the QR code in a secure location in case you need to set up the Google Authenticator on a new device.
- Be cautious of phishing scams that try to obtain your Google Authenticator codes.
