How will Gate.io's HODLer airdrop, 1,000,000 IMT be distributed?

GT holdings and position time determine the airdrop share of [Gate.io](http://Gate.io). Snapshots only count spot accounts, and IMT automatically issues them. Follow the official announcement.

Mar 25, 2025 at 02:32 pm

Distribution basis

  • Based on GT Holdings : In Gate.io's HODLer airdrop rules, GT Holdings are a key element of allocation. In past airdrop activities, such as the airdrop of The AR.IO Network (ARIO) from 18:00 on March 17, 2025 to 18:00 on March 19 (UTC+8), the user can participate in the division of 277,778 ARIO tokens by holding 1 GT, which indicates that the user's GT holding is directly positively correlated with the airdrop share. The more GT you hold, the more IMTs you may get in a 1,000,000 IMT airdrop. For example, User A holds 1,000 GTs, User B holds 100 GTs, and other conditions are the same. According to the proportion of GT holdings, User A holds a higher proportion and has a larger weight, and the IMT airdrop share is likely to be more likely to be obtained than User B. .

  • Position time consideration : Position time will also affect the allocation of airdrops. In order to encourage long-term holding of GT, some airdrop activities will give additional rewards to users who continue to hold positions within a specific period of time. For example, if the user always holds a certain number of GTs a month before the event is started, he will receive an additional coefficient bonus when calculating the allocated shares. Assuming that ordinary users should receive 10 IMTs according to the GT holding ratio, users who meet the conditions for continuous holding may eventually obtain 12 due to the addition coefficient. This mechanism helps stabilize the liquidity of the platform coins, enhance user loyalty, and make airdrop allocations not only depend on the number of coins held, but also on the holding time.

Specific allocation steps

  • Snapshot session :

  • Gate.io takes a snapshot of all users' GT positions at a specific time. This snapshot time is extremely critical, which not only determines which users are eligible to participate in airdrops, but also determines the allocation of weights for qualified users. For example, EigenLayer (EIGEN) holders airdrop Zircuit (ZRC) activity, which stipulates that the snapshot time is 17:00 (UTC+8) on October 8, 2024. Only users who hold more than 3 EIGEN tokens in the spot account are eligible to participate. Similarly, this 1,000,000 IMT airdrop will also set a snapshot time, and only users who hold GT at that moment will have the opportunity to participate in subsequent allocation.

  • It should be noted that the snapshot statistics range is only for spot accounts, and the GT balance of financial management and leverage accounts is not included in the airdrop statistics. As the snapshot time approaches, users must check whether the GT is stored in the spot account. If a large number of GTs are in financial management or leveraged accounts and are not transferred to the spot account in time, an airdrop may be missed. For example, the user C financial management account has 500 GT, the leveraged account has 300 GT, and the spot account has only 50 GT. It is not transferred during the snapshot. Calculate the empty investment space and share only based on the 50 GT of the spot account, which seriously affects the final IMT airdrop number.

  • Calculate allocated shares :

  • After the snapshot is completed, the system will assign IMT to users who meet the criteria according to complex algorithms. The allocation is based on factors such as the proportion of the number of GTs held by the user to the total amount, as well as the holding time coefficient. For example, 1 million users hold a total of 100 million GTs and participate in the allocation of 1 million IMTs. If user A holds 200 GTs and the holding time coefficient is 1.2, then the number of IMTs he can obtain is 1 million × (200÷100 million) × 1.2 = 2.4. When actually issuing, the platform will handle it according to the established rounding rules.

  • Some airdrop activities will set a limit on personal participation. If AO (AO) airdrops, the individual maximum is 5,000GT. Even if the user holds more than 5,000GT, it can only be calculated as 5,000GT when calculating the airdrop IMT share. This move is to ensure fair distribution and decentralization, prevent large-scale investors from monopolizing airdrops, benefit more ordinary users, and promote the healthy development of the platform ecosystem.

  • Token distribution :

  • After the system completes the calculation of allocated shares to meet the criteria, Gate.io will quickly and accurately issue IMT to the user account. The entire issuance process does not require users to collect manually, and IMT tokens will be automatically and accurately received. When CarryProtocol (CRE) holders airdropped GameBuild (GAME2) tokens, Gate.io users successfully received the airdrop through this automated process, greatly improving the user experience.

  • IMT tokens will be issued after completing the snapshot and share calculation. Gate.io will issue an official announcement to explain the specific time, and users need to pay close attention. After the token is received, you can view the airdrop record in the account bill details. If the quantity is found to be abnormal, you can provide feedback through the work order or online customer service. For example, user D found that the number of IMT airdrops was 5 less than expected, and he could use work orders or customer service to explain the calculation basis and problem details so that the platform can verify and solve it and protect his own rights and interests.
