Accessing the Futures Dashboard
1. Log in to your Binance account using verified credentials and navigate directly to the Futures section via the top navigation bar.
2. Select either USDⓈ-M Futures or COIN-M Futures depending on your contract type and trading preference.
3. Ensure you are on the correct trading interface—spot and futures environments operate independently, and position data does not carry over between them.
4. Confirm that your account has active margin mode settings visible; isolated or cross margin status affects how positions appear and behave.
Identifying Open Positions
1. Scroll down to the “Positions” panel located beneath the order book and chart area—this is the primary real-time display for all active contracts.
2. Each row represents a distinct open position, showing asset symbol, direction (long/short), entry price, mark price, unrealized PnL, and leverage applied.
3. A green UP arrow indicates a long position while a red DOWN arrow signals a short position—visual cues are standardized across all devices.
4. Hover over the unrealized PnL value to reveal breakdowns including funding fees, realized gains from partial closures, and liquidation price estimation.
Using the Position History Tab
1. Click the “History” tab adjacent to “Positions” to access closed, liquidated, and auto-deleveraged entries from the past 90 days.
2. Filter results by date range, symbol, or order type using the built-in dropdown selectors above the table.
3. Export records as CSV by clicking the download icon—this file includes timestamps, executed size, average fill price, commission, and final settlement status.
4. Cross-reference timestamps with wallet transaction history to verify funding transfers related to position adjustments.
Mobile App Position Monitoring
1. Launch the official Binance mobile application and tap the “Trade” icon at the bottom navigation bar.
2. Switch to “Futures” using the toggle switch at the top of the screen—ensure the correct contract type is selected before proceeding.
3. Tap the “Positions” button positioned just below the chart view; it displays current exposure with collapsible details for each contract.
4. Swipe left on any position row to reveal quick-action buttons: close, reduce-only toggle, or adjust leverage—all executed without returning to the main dashboard.
API-Based Position Retrieval
1. Developers may fetch live position data through Binance’s REST API endpoint /fapi/v2/positionRisk, requiring valid API key authentication with read permissions.
2. Responses return an array containing positionAmt, entryPrice, markPrice, unRealizedProfit, marginType, and isolatedMargin.
3. Use timestamped responses to build custom dashboards or integrate alerts for liquidation risk thresholds based on dynamic mark price movement.
4. Always validate signature generation logic against Binance’s official documentation—incorrect HMAC-SHA256 implementation results in 401 errors.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why does my position show zero size even though I placed an order?A: The position only reflects filled contracts. If your order remains in the order book or was fully canceled, no position is created.
Q: Can I see positions from sub-accounts in the master account interface?A: No. Sub-account positions must be viewed separately after logging into each respective sub-account or via the sub-account management page with appropriate permissions enabled.
Q: Does changing leverage affect existing positions?A: Leverage adjustment only applies to new orders. Existing positions retain their original leverage setting unless manually modified via the “Adjust Leverage” option in the position row.
Q: Why is my unrealized PnL fluctuating rapidly during low-volume hours?A: Mark price relies on index price feeds and exchange spot prices. During illiquid periods, index composition skew or delayed spot updates can amplify short-term valuation swings.
