Accessing Account Security Settings
1. Log in to your Bybit account using your current credentials including the existing email and password.
2. Navigate to the top-right corner of the dashboard and click on your profile icon to open the dropdown menu.
3. Select Account Security from the menu options to enter the security configuration interface.
4. Ensure two-factor authentication is enabled before proceeding, as Bybit requires 2FA for email modification.
5. Locate the Email Address section within the security panel—this displays your currently registered email.
Initiating Email Change Request
1. Click the Edit button adjacent to your displayed email address.
2. Enter the new email address you wish to associate with your Bybit account.
3. Confirm the new email by re-entering it in the verification field to prevent typographical errors.
4. Input your current account password to authorize the change request.
5. Complete the CAPTCHA challenge if prompted to verify human interaction.
Verification via Confirmation Link
1. Bybit sends a confirmation email to the new email address immediately after submission.
2. Open the inbox of the new email account and locate the message from Bybit titled “Confirm Your New Email Address”.
3. Click the Verify Email button embedded in the email or manually paste the verification link into your browser.
4. The verification page loads automatically; no additional input is required once the link is activated.
5. A success notification appears confirming that the email has been updated and is now active for login and notifications.
Post-Change Authentication Requirements
1. After verification, log out and attempt to log back in using the new email address and your existing password.
2. If 2FA is enabled, provide the time-based one-time password generated by your authenticator app or hardware device.
3. Check the Login History section under Account Security to confirm the most recent session reflects the updated email.
4. Review all notification preferences to ensure alerts are routed correctly to the new email domain.
5. Disable access from unrecognized devices if the system flags any suspicious activity during the transition period.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I change my Bybit email without enabling two-factor authentication?A: No. Bybit enforces mandatory 2FA activation before allowing email modifications to protect account integrity.
Q: What happens if I don’t verify the new email within 24 hours?A: The verification link expires. You must reinitiate the email change process from Account Security settings.
Q: Will my API keys remain functional after updating the email?A: Yes. API key configurations, permissions, and whitelisted IPs are unaffected by email changes.
Q: Is it possible to revert to the old email after confirming the new one?A: Yes. You may initiate another email change request at any time, following the same verification workflow.
