How to Cancel a Pending Spot Order on Bybit

Bybit lets you cancel orders instantly via the trading interface, in batches from Order History, or globally—all with no fees and instant margin release.

Oct 21, 2026 at 09:00 pm

Direct Cancellation from the Trading Interface

1. Launch the Bybit mobile application and log in to your account.

2. Navigate to either the Spot or Derivatives trading screen, depending on where the order was placed.

3. Tap the order icon located at the bottom-right corner of the screen—this icon displays three horizontal lines with a numeric badge indicating active orders.

4. In the opened order list, locate the specific pending order you wish to cancel.

5. Swipe left across that order row to reveal the Cancel button.

6. Tap the Cancel button to submit an immediate cancellation request.

7. Upon successful execution, the order status changes to Cancelled, and any reserved margin or base asset is instantly released back into your available balance.

Batch Cancellation via Order History

1. From the app’s main dashboard, go to Assets → Order History.

2. At the top of the Order History page, select the Pending filter to display only unfilled orders.

3. Tap the Edit button positioned in the upper-right corner to activate multi-select mode.

4. Check the boxes next to each order you intend to cancel.

5. Press the Cancel Orders action button at the bottom of the screen.

6. Confirm the operation in the pop-up dialog—the system processes all selected cancellations synchronously within seconds.

Global Cancellation Using the Quick Access Menu

1. While viewing any trading pair’s chart, tap the More icon (three vertical dots) in the top-right corner.

2. Choose Cancel All Pending Orders from the dropdown menu.

3. A confirmation modal appears showing the total count of pending orders and the estimated amount of capital to be freed.

4. Tap Confirm to initiate bulk cancellation across all markets and order types.

5. All pending orders vanish from the interface within one second, and their statuses update to Cancelled in the history log.

Order State Behavior After Cancellation

1. Cancelled orders no longer appear in the active orders list unless filtered to show historical records.

2. The transaction timestamp reflects the exact moment the cancellation instruction was accepted by the matching engine.

3. No fee is charged for order cancellation—only executed trades incur taker/maker fees.

4. Partially filled orders retain their executed portion; only the unfilled remainder is removed upon cancellation.

5. Order IDs remain traceable in the full order history for audit and reconciliation purposes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I cancel an order after it has started filling?A: Yes. You may cancel a partially filled order. Only the remaining unfilled quantity will be withdrawn; the already executed portion remains settled.

Q: Does cancelling an order affect my API rate limits?A: Yes. Each cancellation request counts toward your allocated API call quota per minute, regardless of whether the order existed or had already been cancelled.

Q: Why does my cancelled order still show up in the order history?A: Bybit retains all order records—including cancelled ones—for compliance and transparency. They are marked with status Cancelled and remain searchable in the Order History tab.

Q: Is there a time window during which I cannot cancel an order?A: No. There is no lock-in period. Orders can be cancelled at any point before full execution, including milliseconds after placement.
