Finding BTCUSDT on Bybit Derivatives Interface
1. Log into your Bybit account via the official web platform or mobile application using verified credentials.
2. Navigate to the top navigation bar and select Derivatives, then choose USDT Contracts from the dropdown menu.
3. Use the search bar located at the upper-left corner of the derivatives trading page and type BTCUSDT.
4. Click on the BTCUSDT trading pair once it appears in the auto-suggested list to load the full order book, chart, and position management panel.
5. Confirm the contract type is set to Perpetual — this is the default and most actively traded BTC derivative on Bybit.
Understanding BTCUSDT Contract Specifications
1. The BTCUSDT perpetual contract is quoted and settled in USDT, meaning all profits, losses, and margin requirements are calculated in stablecoin terms.
2. Minimum order size is 0.001 BTC, with price increments defined by the tick size — currently 0.1 USDT for standard orders.
3. Funding rate is exchanged every 8 hours at 00:00, 08:00, and 16:00 UTC, based on the difference between the mark price and the underlying BTC index price.
4. Leverage options range from 1x to 100x, adjustable per position, with higher tiers requiring completion of Bybit’s risk assessment quiz.
5. Liquidation price is dynamically recalculated in real time and displayed next to each open position under the Positions tab.
Accessing BTCUSDT Market Data and Tools
1. Click the Chart icon beside the BTCUSDT pair name to launch the integrated TradingView-powered interface with multiple timeframes and drawing tools.
2. Select Depth or Trade History tabs below the chart to inspect real-time order book liquidity and recent executed trades.
3. Enable Price Alerts by clicking the bell icon to receive notifications when BTCUSDT reaches custom-defined levels.
4. Open the Trading Panel on the right side to toggle between limit, market, stop-market, and take-profit/stop-loss order types.
5. View open interest and 24-hour volume directly beneath the pair name — these metrics refresh every 5 seconds and reflect current market participation intensity.
Managing BTCUSDT Positions and Orders
1. After entering a buy or sell order, confirm execution status in the Order History section, where timestamps, filled amounts, and average fill prices are recorded.
2. Modify or cancel active orders directly from the Open Orders tab without navigating away from the BTCUSDT interface.
3. Adjust leverage for an existing position using the Adjust Leverage button inside the Positions panel.
4. Set partial close targets by inputting specific quantities and price conditions in the Close Position modal window.
5. Monitor unrealized PnL, margin ratio, and maintenance margin level in real time — all values update instantly as BTCUSDT price moves.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: Can I trade BTCUSDT on Bybit using a sub-account?A1: Yes, BTCUSDT perpetual contracts are fully accessible from both master and linked sub-accounts, provided the sub-account has completed KYC Level 1 and has sufficient USDT balance for margin.
Q2: Is there a difference between BTCUSDT on Bybit and Binance?A2: Yes. Bybit uses its own index price composed of six spot exchanges, while Binance employs a different index composition and funding calculation methodology — leading to minor but measurable divergence during high volatility.
Q3: Why does my BTCUSDT order show “Partially Filled” even after placing a market order?A3: This occurs when insufficient liquidity exists at the top of the order book to execute the full quantity at the best available price; the remainder remains as a limit order at the last matched price level.
Q4: Does Bybit support BTCUSDT contract trading via API with trailing stop functionality?A4: Yes, Bybit’s unified API v5 supports trailing stop orders for BTCUSDT perpetual contracts, with configurable activation price and callback rate parameters.
