Card Application Process
1. Log in to your Binance account via the official website or mobile app.
2. Navigate to the Finance section and select Card.
3. Click Apply Now to begin the application for a physical or virtual Binance Card.
4. Complete identity verification if not already done—this includes uploading government-issued ID and completing facial recognition.
5. Wait for approval; most applications are processed within minutes, though some may take up to 7 business days.
6. Once approved, you will receive an email notification containing instructions to access your card details.
Activating and Funding Your Card
1. Go to the Card dashboard and locate your newly issued virtual card.
2. Copy the card number, CVV, and expiration date directly from the interface.
3. Link your Binance wallet balance to the card by selecting a supported cryptocurrency—BTC, ETH, USDT, and others are eligible.
4. Set a default spending currency; this determines which asset is automatically converted during each transaction.
5. Confirm funding by authorizing a small test transaction or checking the card’s available balance on the dashboard.
6. No separate top-up step is required—the card draws funds in real time from your spot wallet upon use.
In-Store and Online Payment Mechanics
1. At physical merchants accepting Mastercard, tap or insert your Binance Card at the terminal.
2. The system instantly converts your selected crypto into local fiat based on live exchange rates.
3. For online purchases, enter your virtual card details (number, CVV, expiry) as you would with any debit card.
4. When prompted, authenticate using biometric verification—face scan or fingerprint—via the Binance App.
5. If biometrics are disabled, a one-time password (OTP) sent to your registered device will be required.
6. Transaction status appears immediately in your Binance Card activity log, marked as “Authorized” until settled.
Transaction Management and Dispute Handling
1. All completed and pending transactions appear under Transaction History in chronological order.
2. Filter entries by type: payment, refund, ATM withdrawal, authorization, or reversal.
3. Each record shows timestamp, merchant name, amount in fiat, original crypto asset, and conversion rate applied.
4. To dispute a charge, select the transaction and click Report Issue; Binance initiates review within 24 hours.
5. Refunds are credited back to your spot wallet in the same cryptocurrency used for the original purchase.
6. Pending authorizations remain visible for up to 30 days before auto-cancellation if the merchant does not finalize settlement.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Can I use my Binance Card in countries where crypto is restricted?Yes, but only if the merchant accepts Mastercard and local banking regulations permit foreign card usage. Conversion occurs off-chain; no direct crypto transfer takes place at point of sale.
Q: Is there a minimum balance requirement to keep the card active? No minimum balance is enforced. However, zero-balance cards cannot process transactions until funds are added to the linked wallet.
Q: What happens if the market price fluctuates between authorization and settlement? The exchange rate is locked at the moment of authorization. Settlement uses that fixed rate, shielding users from volatility during the clearing window.
Q: Are ATM withdrawals supported globally?ATM access depends on regional infrastructure and Mastercard network coverage. Withdrawals are limited to fiat currencies supported by the ATM operator and subject to daily caps set by Binance.
