Step-by-Step Guide to Adding Aurora (AURORA) to Your Wallet
Introduction:Aurora (AURORA) is a blockchain platform designed for scalability and interoperability within the NEAR ecosystem. It provides a high-throughput and low-cost environment for decentralized applications (dApps), smart contracts, and token transactions. Adding AURORA to your wallet allows you to interact with the Aurora ecosystem, store and manage your AURORA tokens, and participate in its decentralized financial (DeFi) ecosystem.
Step 1: Choose a Wallet
- MetaMask: A popular non-custodial wallet that supports multiple blockchains, including Aurora.
- Ledger: A hardware wallet that provides enhanced security for your funds and private keys.
- NEAR Wallet: The official wallet for the NEAR ecosystem, which provides native support for AURORA.
- Aurora Wallet: A specialized wallet designed specifically for interacting with the Aurora platform.
Step 2: Add Aurora Network to Your Wallet
Once you have selected your wallet, you need to add the Aurora network to it.
For MetaMask:- Go to "Settings" in the MetaMask interface.
- Click on "Networks" and then "Add Network."
Enter the following details:
- Network Name: Aurora Mainnet
- New RPC URL: https://mainnet.aurora.dev
- ChainID: 1313161554
- Symbol: AURORA
- Block Explorer URL: https://explorer.mainnet.aurora.dev
- Connect your Ledger device to the Ledger Live app.
- Go to "Settings" and then "Add Account."
- Select "Aurora (AURORA)" from the list of options.
- Open the NEAR Wallet and click on "Add Account."
- Select "Aurora" from the list of options.
- Install the Aurora Wallet extension.
- Open the wallet and click on "Connect to Web3."
- Select "Aurora" from the list of options.
Step 3: Add AURORA Tokens to Your Wallet
After adding the Aurora network to your wallet, you can add AURORA tokens by sending them to the wallet's address from an exchange or another wallet.
Step 4: Use AURORA in Your Wallet
Once AURORA tokens are in your wallet, you can start using them to interact with the Aurora blockchain. This includes sending and receiving AURORA tokens, participating in DeFi applications, and interacting with smart contracts.
Example Use Cases:- Swap AURORA tokens for other tokens on Aurora's decentralized exchanges.
- Provide liquidity to Aurora's lending and borrowing platforms.
- Stake AURORA tokens to earn rewards and governance rights.
- Use AURORA tokens to pay for transaction fees and smart contract executions.
