What is the Issuance Price of Maple Token (MPL)?
Key Points:- MPL launched its token through an initial decentralized exchange (DEX) offering (IDO) on the Balancer protocol, not through an initial coin offering (ICO).
- The MPL token IDO took place in two rounds, with the first round reserved for liquidity providers and the second round open to the public.
- The price of MPL in the IDO was not fixed but rather determined dynamically based on a bonding curve mechanism.
Issuance Price of MPL Token
Maple Token (MPL) did not have a traditional issuance price as it was not launched through an initial coin offering (ICO). Instead, MPL launched its token through an initial decentralized exchange (DEX) offering (IDO) on the Balancer protocol.
The MPL token IDO took place in two rounds:
- Round 1: This round was reserved for liquidity providers who committed MapleUSD (mUSD) stablecoins to the Balancer pool. These liquidity providers received MPL tokens in proportion to their mUSD contribution.
- Round 2: This round was open to the public. Participants could purchase MPL tokens using ETH or mUSD directly from the Balancer pool.
The price of MPL in the IDO was not fixed but rather determined dynamically based on a bonding curve mechanism. This mechanism ensures that the price of MPL increases as more tokens are purchased and decreases as more tokens are sold.
The initial bonding curve parameters were set to:
- Initial price: 0.015 ETH or 15 mUSD
- Slope: 100
- Minimum reserve: 200,000 mUSD
These parameters were designed to ensure that the price of MPL would rise gradually during the IDO and to prevent large price swings.
How to Participate in the MPL Token IDO
To participate in the MPL token IDO, investors needed to:
- Have a cryptocurrency wallet: Investors needed to have a compatible cryptocurrency wallet, such as Metamask or Trust Wallet, to store their mUSD and MPL tokens.
- Acquire mUSD tokens: Investors needed to acquire mUSD tokens prior to the IDO. mUSD tokens could be purchased on decentralized exchanges, such as Uniswap and Sushiswap.
- Contribute to the Balancer pool: During the IDO, investors could contribute their mUSD tokens to the Balancer pool to receive MPL tokens.
- Purchase MPL tokens directly: Investors could also purchase MPL tokens directly from the Balancer pool using ETH or mUSD.
