BNT serves as the backbone of the Bancor ecosystem, empowering users to participate in governance, staking, trading, and liquidity provision.

What Currency is BNT?

BNT is the native token of the Bancor Network, a decentralized, automated market maker (AMM) that allows users to trade cryptocurrencies and tokens without an intermediary. The platform is supported by a network of liquidity providers who provide liquidity to the exchange in exchange for fees earned from trading activity.

The Bancor Network is designed to provide a more user-friendly and cost-effective alternative to traditional cryptocurrency exchanges. By eliminating the need for intermediaries, the platform can offer lower trading fees and faster transaction times.

BNT is used to pay for various services and utilities within the Bancor ecosystem. The token can be used for the following purposes within the Bancor ecosystem:

Governance: BNT holders hold voting power in the BancorDAO, a decentralized autonomous organization that oversees community proposals and development of the Bancor Network.
Staking: BNT holders can stake their tokens to help secure the Bancor Network and earn rewards in new BNT.
Trading: BNT can be used as a medium of exchange for trading cryptocurrencies and tokens on the Bancor Network.
Liquidity Provision: BNT holders can provide liquidity to the Bancor Network by providing a trading pair of a specific token, such as ETH/BNT or BTC/BNT and earn a portion of the liquidity fees for that trading pair.
