What is the consensus mechanism of Catizen (CATI) currency?
Catizen's utilization of the Casper CBC consensus mechanism promotes decentralization and sustainability, eliminating the need for energy-intensive mining.
Dec 18, 2024 at 07:34 pm
- Catizen (CATI) utilizes the Casper CBC Casper (Correct-by-Construction) consensus mechanism.
- Casper CBC fosters a decentralized network by selecting validators based on their stake size.
- The Proof-of-Stake mechanism eliminates the need for energy-intensive mining, promoting sustainability.
Catizen (CATI) is a cryptocurrency that operates on a unique consensus mechanism known as Casper CBC Casper (Correct-by-Construction). This mechanism differs from traditional Proof-of-Work algorithms, offering benefits such as increased decentralization, energy efficiency, and security.
Casper CBC Consensus MechanismCasper CBC is a type of Proof-of-Stake consensus algorithm that selects validators based on the size of their stake in the CATI network. Validators are responsible for verifying transactions, adding new blocks to the blockchain, and maintaining the integrity of the network.
Here's how Casper CBC works:
- Validators are selected: Validators are chosen based on the amount of CATI they have staked. The more CATI a validator has staked, the higher their chance of being selected to propose a new block.
- Blocks are proposed: One validator is randomly selected to propose a new block. The proposed block includes a set of transactions that have been verified by the validator.
- Blocks are finalized: Once a block has been proposed, other validators vote on whether to accept or reject the block. If a majority of validators approve the block, it is added to the blockchain and becomes permanent.
- Rewards are distributed: Validators who propose and finalize blocks are rewarded with CATI tokens. This incentivizes validators to participate in the network and maintain its security.
- Decentralization: By selecting validators based on their stake size, Casper CBC promotes a more decentralized network. Unlike Proof-of-Work, where a few large mining pools control a majority of the hash power, anyone with a sufficient CATI stake can participate in the validation process.
- Energy efficiency: Proof-of-Stake algorithms, such as Casper CBC, are significantly more energy-efficient than Proof-of-Work. This reduces the environmental impact of cryptocurrency mining and makes it more sustainable.
- Security: Casper CBC enhances the security of the CATI network by incentivizing validators to behave honestly. Validators who propose or finalize invalid blocks risk losing their stake. This discourages malicious behavior and ensures the integrity of the blockchain.
- Q: What advantages does Casper CBC have over Proof-of-Work?A: Casper CBC is more decentralized, energy-efficient, and secure than Proof-of-Work.
- Q: How does staking work in Casper CBC?A: Validators stake CATI tokens to participate in the validation process. The more CATI they stake, the higher their chance of being selected as a validator.
- Q: What are the rewards for validators in Casper CBC?A: Validators who propose and finalize blocks are rewarded with CATI tokens.
- Q: How does Casper CBC help prevent malicious validator behavior?A: Validators who propose or finalize invalid blocks risk losing their stake, which discourages malicious behavior and ensures the integrity of the blockchain.
