How to Close the Position with Upbit Leverage
Understanding Leverage Trading on UpbitUpbit, a popular cryptocurrency exchange, offers leverage trading for qualified users. Leverage trading amplifies your trading power, allowing you to trade with more capital than you have available, but it also increases your potential risk.
Steps to Close a Leverage Position- Navigate to the Margin Trading Page:
- Log in to your Upbit account and navigate to the "Margin Trading" tab.
- Select the Trading Pair:
- Choose the cryptocurrency pair you used to open the leverage position.
- Identify Your Position:
- Locate the "My Positions" section and find the active position you want to close.
- Decide on Closing Method:
Determine whether you wish to close the position at the current market price or by setting a limit order.
a. Market Order:- Executes the trade immediately at the best available market price.
- Lets you specify the price at which you want to close the position. Your order will only be executed if the market price reaches your specified limit.
- Place the Close Order:
- Enter the quantity of the position you wish to close in the "Close" section.
- For a market order, simply confirm the transaction.
- For a limit order, specify the limit price and confirm the transaction.
- Confirm the Order:
- Review the details of the closing order, including the quantity, type, and price if applicable.
- Once satisfied, click "Close" to finalize the transaction.
- Monitor the Position:
- The position will be closed once the closing order is executed.
- You can track the status of your order in the "My Orders" section.
- Margin Call: If the value of your margined position decreases significantly, you may receive a margin call. This requires you to add additional funds to your account to maintain your position. Failure to do so could result in the forced liquidation of your position.
- Risk Management: Leverage trading can amplify both profits and losses. Use leverage cautiously and only trade with the amount of capital you can afford to lose.
- Close Partial Positions: You can close only a portion of the leverage position if desired. Simply adjust the quantity field in the closing order accordingly.
- No Fees for Closing: Upbit does not charge any fees for closing a leverage position.
