How to Close Bitfinex LeverageStep 1: Log in to your Bitfinex account
  • Navigate to the Bitfinex website and click on the "Log In" button located at the top right corner of the page.
  • Enter your username and password, and click on the "Login" button.
Step 2: Navigate to the "Margin" page
  • Once you have logged in, hover your mouse over the "Trading" tab and select "Margin."
  • This will take you to the "Margin" page, which displays all of your open positions.
Step 3: Find the position you want to close
  • On the "Margin" page, you will see a list of all of your open positions.
  • Each position will have a "Symbol" column, which indicates the asset that you are trading.
  • Find the position that you want to close and click on the "Close Position" button.
Step 4: Enter the amount you want to close
  • Once you have clicked on the "Close Position" button, a modal window will appear.
  • Enter the amount of the position that you want to close in the "Amount" field.
  • You can either enter a specific amount or use the percentage buttons to close a portion of your position.
Step 5: Click on the "Close Position" button
  • Once you have entered the amount that you want to close, click on the "Close Position" button.
  • Bitfinex will then close your position and return the proceeds to your available balance.
Step 6: Verify the closed position
  • After you have clicked on the "Close Position" button, the order will be executed and your position will be closed.
  • To verify this, navigate to the "Order History" page.
Step 7: Repeat steps 3-6 for any additional positions
  • If you have multiple positions open, you will need to repeat steps 3-6 for each position that you want to close.
  • Once you have closed all of your positions, your leverage will be zero.
Additional Notes
  • If you close a position with leverage, you will need to pay the interest that you have accrued.
  • You can also close a position by using the "Market" order type, which will sell your position at the current market price.
  • If you are unsure how to close a position, you can contact Bitfinex support for assistance.
