Accessing Spot Trading History via Binance Web Interface

Retrieving Historical Data Using Binance REST API
1. Obtain valid API keys from the Binance API Management page with the read:trades permission enabled and IP whitelisting configured.
2. Call the /api/v3/myTrades endpoint with required parameters: symbol (e.g., BTCUSDT), timestamp, and signature. Pagination is controlled via the fromId and limit fields.
3. Each response contains trade ID, price, quantity, quote quantity, time, isBuyerMaker flag, and commission details. Timestamps are in milliseconds since Unix epoch.
4. To fetch trades across multiple symbols, iterate through /api/v3/ticker/price or /api/v3/exchangeInfo to collect active trading pairs before issuing individual trade requests.
5. Responses do not include fiat conversion values. Users must fetch historical USDT or BUSD exchange rates separately if calculating PnL in fiat terms.
Automated History Aggregation with Python Libraries
1. Install python-binance using pip and initialize the client with API key and secret. Ensure the system clock is synchronized within ±1 second of NTP servers to avoid signature errors.
2. Use client.get_my_trades(symbol='ETHUSDT') to retrieve up to 1000 most recent trades per call. Loop with fromId set to the lowest trade ID from the previous batch until no new entries return.
3. Normalize raw JSON responses into Pandas DataFrames. Columns such as price, qty, quoteQty, and time require explicit type casting for numerical operations.
4. Merge results across symbols into a single chronological dataset. Sort by time ascending and deduplicate based on tradeId to prevent overlaps during batch transitions.
5. Export final dataset to Parquet format for efficient storage and querying. Avoid CSV for long-term archival due to lack of schema enforcement and timestamp precision loss.
Data Integrity and Timezone Considerations
1. All timestamps returned by Binance APIs are in UTC without timezone offset indicators. Local timezone conversion must be performed explicitly in downstream tools.
2. The web interface displays times in the user’s browser-local timezone but stores them internally as UTC. Discrepancies may appear when comparing exported CSV timestamps with API responses.
3. Order execution time in the API differs from transaction confirmation time on-chain. Spot trades settle instantly on Binance’s internal ledger; no blockchain confirmation delay applies.
4. Trade history does not reflect balance changes caused by fees deducted from base or quote assets. Fee accounting must be derived from the commission and commissionAsset fields.
5. Canceled orders appear only in the Order History tab if they were placed within the last 7 days and have not been purged. They are excluded from /api/v3/myTrades responses entirely.
