how to send solana from metamask to phantom

To transfer funds from MetaMask to Phantom wallets, a Solana Cross-Chain Token Bridge (SCBT) and associated token are required for bridge transactions and fees.

Nov 11, 2024 at 10:34 pm

Step 1: Prerequisites
  • Ensure you have both MetaMask (for sending Solana) and Phantom (for receiving Solana) wallets installed and funded.
  • Acquire a 'Solana Cross-Chain Token Bridge' (SCBT) to connect MetaMask and Phantom.
  • Obtain an SCBT Token to cover bridge fees (can be purchased on platforms like Huobi).
Step 2: Cross-Chain Connection via 'Solana Cross-Chain Token Bridge' (SCBT)
  1. Visit the SCBT Transfer Portal: https://bridge.solana.com/transfer.
  2. Select MetaMask for 'Source' and Phantom for 'Destination'.
  3. Input the amount of Solana (SOL) you wish to transfer.
  4. Approve the transaction in your MetaMask wallet.
  5. Wait for the SCBT Token purchase to complete.
  6. Confirm the bridge transaction by clicking 'Transfer'.
Step 3: Confirming Transfer in Phantom Wallet
  1. Open your Phantom wallet.
  2. Select the 'Deposit' option.
  3. Choose 'Cross-Chain' as the deposit type.
  4. Select 'Solana' as the bridged token.
  5. Copy your Phantom wallet's Solana receiving address.
  6. Return to the SCBT Transfer Portal.
  7. Enter the Phantom wallet's receiving address in the 'Destination Address' field.
  8. Click 'Transfer Again' to initiate the transfer.
Step 4: Tracking Transaction Status
  • The transfer process can take several minutes to complete, depending on network congestion.
  • You can monitor the transaction status through the SCBT Transfer Portal or through a Solana blockchain explorer such as Solscan.
Step 5: Receiving Solana in Phantom Wallet
  1. Once the transaction is complete, the transferred Solana will appear in your Phantom wallet balance.
  2. You can check your balance in the Phantom wallet's main interface.
Additional Notes:
  • The minimum transfer amount is 0.0005 SOL, and transfer fees may apply depending on network traffic.
  • SOL tokens are not native to the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) and must be bridged to and from EVM-compatible wallets like MetaMask.
  • SCBT uses a two-step transfer process to ensure the security of tokens during transfer between different blockchain networks.
  • Phantom serves as a primary Solana wallet, allowing storage and use of SOL and Solana-based tokens within the Solana ecosystem.
