how to send filecoin to metamask

To transfer FIL from a Filecoin wallet to MetaMask, import your private key into the latter and confirm the transaction on the MetaMask end.

How to Send Filecoin to MetaMask1. Create a Filecoin Wallet
  • Visit the official Filecoin website and download the Filecoin wallet application for your operating system.
  • Install and launch the wallet, and click on the "Create New Wallet" option.
  • Choose a strong password for your wallet and write it down somewhere safe.
  • Generate a mnemonic seed phrase and store it securely, as it is the only way to recover your wallet if you lose access to your device.
2. Add Filecoin Network to MetaMask
  • Open your MetaMask wallet and click on the "Networks" tab.
  • Click on the "Add Network" button and enter the following details:

    • Network Name: Filecoin
    • RPC URL: https://api.filecoin.io/rpc/v0
    • Chain ID: 1
    • Symbol: FIL
    • Block Explorer URL: https://filscan.io/
3. Import Your Filecoin Private Key into MetaMask
  • Open your Filecoin wallet and click on the "Settings" tab.
  • Select the "Export Private Key" option and enter your password.
  • Copy the private key to your clipboard.
  • Open MetaMask and click on the "Import Account" option.
  • Choose the "Private Key" option and paste the Filecoin private key into the field.
  • Click on the "Import" button.
4. Send Filecoin from Your Filecoin Wallet to MetaMask
  • Open your Filecoin wallet and click on the "Send" tab.
  • Enter the MetaMask wallet address as the recipient address.
  • Enter the amount of FIL you want to send.
  • Click on the "Send" button and confirm the transaction.
5. Confirm the Transaction on MetaMask
  • Open MetaMask and click on the "Activity" tab.
  • Find the incoming Filecoin transaction and click on it.
  • Review the transaction details and click on the "Confirm" button.
6. Monitoring the Transaction
  • Once you have confirmed the transaction, it will be added to the Filecoin blockchain.
  • You can track the status of the transaction on the Filecoin block explorer (https://filscan.io/).
  • It may take a few minutes or hours for the transaction to be fully processed, depending on the network congestion.
