Stacks (STX) is a layer-1 blockchain protocol that enables smart contracts and decentralized applications (dApps) to be deployed on Bitcoin. STX tokens are the native cryptocurrency of the Stacks ecosystem, used for gas fees, staking, and governance.

Issue Price:

Initial Coin Offering (ICO): STX tokens were first sold in an ICO held on December 3-11, 2019, at a price of $0.30 per token.
Second ICO: A second ICO was conducted in October 2021, where STX tokens were sold at a price of $1.50 per token.

Issue Quantity:

ICO Supply: A total of 632,500,000 STX tokens were sold in the initial ICO.
Second ICO Supply: An additional 100,000,000 STX tokens were sold in the second ICO.
Total Supply: The maximum supply of STX tokens is capped at 1,818,181,818.

Distribution of STX Coins:

ICO Distribution: 40% of the total supply (725,000,000 STX) were distributed to ICO participants.
Team and Advisors: 15% (272,727,272 STX) were allocated to the team and advisors.
Foundation: 15% (272,727,272 STX) were reserved for the Stacks Foundation.
Ecosystem Development: 10% (181,818,181 STX) were designated for ecosystem development and growth.
Liquid Unlock Policy: 20% of the total supply (363,636,363 STX) were subject to a liquid unlock policy over a period of 3 years, beginning in July 2022.
