1. Total Supply of ADA
The total supply of Cardano's native cryptocurrency, ADA, is capped at 45 billion. The initial distribution was as follows:
- Founders and early contributors: 25.92%
- IOHK (development team): 15.72%
- Emurgo (blockchain company): 6.92%
- Cardano Foundation: 4.33%
- Community treasury: 22.4%
2. Tokenomics
ADA has several key tokenomics features:
- Proof-of-Stake (PoS) Consensus: Holders can stake their ADA to earn rewards and participate in network governance.
- Transaction Fees: ADA is used to pay transaction fees on the Cardano blockchain.
- Governance: ADA holders participate in Cardano's decentralized governance through voting on proposals.
