Uncirculated American Silver Eagles, like their proof counterparts, feature the same designs as the bullion versions.

This includes Adolph A. Weinman’s classic Walking Liberty image on the obverse (heads side), which originally appeared on half-dollars issued from 1916 to 1947. The design shows Liberty in full stride, draped in the folds of the American flag. Her right hand is extended, while her left holds branches of laurel and oak. It has appeared on American Silver Eagles since the bullion and proof versions were introduced in 1986, and in 2021 it was refined using historical assets and modern technology to more closely reflect Weinman’s original vision.

The reverse (tails side) was redesigned in 2021, replacing the original heraldic eagle with a new depiction by Mint Artistic Infusion Program Designer Emily Damstra and sculpted by Mint Medallic Artist Michael Gaudioso. It features an eagle approaching a landing while carrying an oak branch, suggesting it is about to add it to a nest.
