Shiba Inu (CRYPTO: SHIB) announced on Thursday a partnership with the decentralized oracle network Chainlink (CRYPTO: LINK) to expand its ecosystem.

The partnership will see Chainlink's standard for blockchain interoperability become the primary cross-chain infrastructure for Shibarium, Shiba Inu's Layer-2 blockchain.

The Cross-Chain Token standard will also make Shiba Inu ecosystem tokens like SHIB, Doge Killer (LEASH), and Bone ShibaSwap (BONE) available across 12 different blockchains.

Shiba Inu's lead developer, Shytoshi Kusama, called the development "huge news" for the ecosystem.
