The Ronin Network has finalized its migration to Chainlink's CCIP (Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol), marking a critical upgrade in cross-chain security for the gaming-centric blockchain.

The move, which began on October 10, will see the Ronin Network S.I.D.E (Secure, Interoperable, Decentralized, and Economical) integrate with CCIP to provide more robust cross-chain services.

The CCIP migration will soon be completed, with Friday, April 5, marking the day when the network will have fully switched over.

"The Ronin Bridge CCIP migration is almost complete. The legacy Ronin Bridge has been deprecated. RONers please use the CCIP Bridge to transfer tokens between Ronin and other chains. This integration will see the Ronin Network's Ethereum sidechain become more secure, as it will no longer rely on the legacy bridge, which was previously exploited in one of the largest hacks in crypto history.

In 2022, hackers stole $615 million after compromising validator nodes to forge transactions on the Ronin Bridge. The incident, which impacted the network's bridge between Ethereum and the Ronin chain, ultimately allowed the hackers to siphon off a massive amount of WETH and USDC.
