President Donald Trump is set to host two dinners with a crypto theme, one for wealthy political donors and the other for meme coin millionaires, both potentially bringing in millions for Trump.
The first event, which is one of the most expensive political fundraisers in recent times, will take place on Monday and will cost $1.05 million per plate.
The dinner grants access to Trump’s inner circle to holders of the $TRUMP token, rather than cash. MAGA Inc., the committee, is hosting the event.
The May 5 "Crypto and AI Innovators Dinner" will also feature special guest David Sacks, who has been working to revise the nation’s laws regarding artificial intelligence and cryptocurrency.
The committee that will be receiving the funds, MAGA, is a super PAC that backs Trump, although the president is barred by the Constitution from seeking a third term.
The PAC is holding several dinners to raise millions of dollars, but it remains unclear how it will use those funds.
The cryptocurrency community has hailed Sacks’ increasing influence in Washington, crediting him and other Trump-aligned appointees for a substantial shift in policy that has already yielded several regulatory victories for various federal agencies. Several business leaders have described this change as a 180-degree turn from President Joe Biden.
The second gala dinner will take place at Trump National, his private club, in Washington, D.C., later this month.
The guest list will be determined by the $ TRUMP meme token.
Users gain access based on the number of tokens they possess rather than their cash, with the top 220 being guaranteed dinner with Trump.
