As a result, MicroStrategy announced that it had successfully acquired 7,420 Bitcoins, valued at $458 million at an average price of around $61k, bringing its total holdings to approximately 252,220 Bitcoins.

Bitcoin’s price has risen significantly in recent years due to its scarcity and mainstream adoption by institutional investors. The flagship coin has gained over 55% year-to-date, despite trailing gold's performance, which has seen a gain of around 29% over the same period.

Since pivoting to the Bitcoin strategy, MSTR shares have moved in tandem with BTC price action. Notably, the company has managed to outpace nearly all Wall Street companies, including all components of the S&P 500.
