Tron founder Justin Sun dropped a bombshell with the launch of SunPump, Tron DAO's first meme coin platform. With this move, Sun aims to challenge Solana's meme coin market dominance. The move comes on the heels of the recent surge in popularity of Solana-based meme coins like dogwifhat (WIF), Bonk (BONK) and BOOK OF MEME (BOME). Sun, a renowned ambitious crypto entrepreneur in the crypto world, now sees SunPump as Tron's answer to Solana's stronghold in the meme token space.

In a post on social media platform X, Sun introduced the meme coins in SunPump. He also said that the “big wave” of meme coins will soon “hit” the leading centralized exchanges (CEXs) in the digital asset space and that “FOMO will run wild.” He also added that his best pictures for CEXs are HTX and Polonieux.

Meanwhile, Sun announced that SunPump reached the 10,000 user milestone last week. He also added that the number will soon hit 20,000 as the platform is still in its early stages. SunPump upgraded its server capacity over the weekend to prepare for the increase in user adoption. It also plans to onboard more users soon.

In another X post, Sun said that if any CEX wants to partner with SunPump, he would be happy to sit down and chat, adding that meme projects on Tron DAO's meme coin platform are “super selective” about where they exchange their native tokens. On the other hand, centralized exchanges are delisting various altcoins due to these tokens not meeting their standards.
