Helium and DAWN are joining forces to integrate broadband nodes and mobile hotspots within Solana's DePIN ecosystem, aiming to enhance decentralized connectivity.
The partnership between Helium and DAWN is set to integrate 8,000 broadband nodes into the Helium network, significantly bolstering the community-driven telecommunications infrastructure. This integration will contribute to improving data coverage and strengthening the Data Credits system, which plays a pivotal role in rewarding each contribution to the network.
Following a successful 2024, which saw several decentralized infrastructure protocols on Solana achieve notable user stickiness and adoption, this initiative paves the way for a "super-internet" that caters to both mobile telephony and home connections, empowering each participant with greater autonomy.
Through this exchange of resources, Helium will integrate DAWN's broadband nodes, while DAWN will utilize the capacity of mobile hotspots to cover high-traffic areas. In turn, contributors will be able to earn token rewards whenever their devices aid in data transfer or contribute to expanding coverage.
This partnership not only expands the reach of community internet but also opens up possibilities for novel applications within cities, businesses, and events.
