World Mobile Token (WMT) is a cryptocurrency project that aims to revolutionise telecommunications infrastructure globally. The project uses blockchain technology to create affordable and decentralised mobile network services, particularly targeting underserved communities worldwide. In 2023, WMT showed a strong inclination towards the Cardano ($ADA) blockchain network, aiming to adopt the blockchain technology developed by Input Output Hong Kong Global (IOG) to achieve the vision for the WMT crypto project.

On 28 June 2024, A crypto X user highlighted World Mobile Token's commitment to a multi-chain vision, stating that WMT is supported by IOHK (Input Output Hong Kong), which backs the Cardano blockchain. The user also mentioned that the project promised users the freedom to move their $WMTX tokens across various blockchain networks, including remaining on Cardano if preferred.

The Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson also responded to this tweet, emphasising the strategic collaboration between Cardano and World Mobile Token (WMT) as pivotal for advancing decentralised infrastructure globally.
