Financial writer Robert Kiyosaki, best known for the Rich Dad Poor Dad series, is urging investors to consider assets like Bitcoin (BTC), gold, and silver to protect their savings.

In a recent post, Kiyosaki highlighted traditional forms of money as better shields against what he calls “mounting financial risks.”

The writer, known for his pessimistic outlook, issued a fresh warning that massive economic turmoil could be on the horizon. He contends that the US departure from the gold standard in 1971 sowed the seeds for ongoing instability.

According to Kiyosaki, the Long‑Term Capital Management event in 1998 and the Wall Street crash in 2008 were early warnings. However, he says that neither of those events posed the real problem; they merely hinted at deeper trouble. In his view, central banks intervened by injecting cash to patch up the holes but never undertook the task of fixing the underlying cracks. Those quick fixes are now running the risk of unravelling as debt levels threaten to become unmanageable.

"They can't borrow or print their way out of an endless pile of debt. Every day, the debt grows.”

Central bank limits exposed

Based on reports, Kiyosaki believes that printing money can’t solve every financial headache. He warns that central banks may soon hit their limits with interest rate hikes and quantitative easing. Kiyosaki adds that unlimited cash printing erodes trust in currency, making it harder for banks and governments to rely on the same old playbook. In his words, “You can’t borrow or print your way out of an endless pile of debt.” That debt, he says, is growing every day.

According to the writer, US student loan debt ranks high on his list of danger signs. He sees it as a ticking time bomb that could trigger serious credit shocks.

Kiyosaki isn’t the only one highlighting this danger. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen has said that widespread defaults could quickly unsettle credit markets. Economist James Rickards also shares the view, arguing that mass non‑payments may shake the financial system more than commercial real estate or corporate bankruptcies.

Growing interest in Bitcoin and precious metals

The writer, who has been a vocal Bitcoin bull for several years, says that more people are turning to the flagship cryptocurrency, gold, and silver as lifeboats.

Kiyosaki explained that Bitcoin’s capped supply gives it an edge over fiat money, which can be printed in endless batches. He contrasts a fixed 21 million‑coin limit with the unchecked growth of government debt.

Gold and silver, with centuries of use as money, also win points because they can’t be created by a keyboard.

"Investors are buying Bitcoin because they don't trust the government, the banking system or the dollar. People are investing in hard assets, like gold, silver and Bitcoin, to preserve wealth and prepare for the coming financial storm," Kiyosaki warns.

suggest investors keep an eye on three key signs: rising debt levels, growing numbers of loan defaults, and continued currency printing. He adds that a shift toward alternative assets is a crowd signal—when more people start buying Bitcoin, trust in paper money falls.

"If people are buying U.S. dollars or investing in the stock market, they are trusting the government and the banking system. But if people are buying gold, silver, or Bitcoin, they are not trusting the government or the banking system and are making their own investment decisions," he concludes.
