A blockchain platform created by former Facebook employees, Aptos, has set a new record for the highest number of daily transactions on any blockchain network.

On May 25th, Aptos processed a staggering total of 115.4 million transactions in a single day, compared to Solana's 31.7 million transactions.

With this performance, Aptos has more than halved the previous record for layer-1 blockchains, which was set by Sui Network. At peak performance, users were able to execute up to 32,000 tps (transactions per second).

The surge in activity can be largely attributed to Tapos Cat, a newly launched tap-to-earn game that has quickly become a hit among users. During its first day on the Aptos mainnet, the game is said to have brought in about 10 million USD worth of transaction volume to the ecosystem.

Despite the massive number of transactions being processed simultaneously, fee rates remained low and the transaction success rate was still positive, thanks to Aptos' innovative “Aggregator” technology, which meshed many individual payments together efficiently.
