Tether Eyes Dirham-Pegged Stablecoin, CEO로 블록체인 출시 배제

세계 최대 스테이블코인 USDT의 발행사인 테더(Tether)는 지난 몇 년간 업계 강자로 자리매김해 왔습니다.

Stablecoin issuer Tether has announced that it will not be launching its own blockchain. In an interview with Bloomberg, Tether’s CTO Paolo Ardoino stated that the company has no plans to launch a blockchain due to the market being saturated and the technology being commoditized.

스테이블코인 발행사인 테더(Tether)는 자체 블록체인을 출시하지 않을 것이라고 발표했습니다. Bloomberg와의 인터뷰에서 Tether의 CTO인 Paolo Ardoino는 시장이 포화되고 기술이 상품화되고 있기 때문에 회사가 블록체인을 출시할 계획이 없다고 밝혔습니다.

Despite having the technological capabilities to do so, Ardoino said that existing blockchains already provide good solutions and that it may be more efficient to use those rather than creating a new one.

Ardoino는 그렇게 할 수 있는 기술적 능력이 있음에도 불구하고 기존 블록체인이 이미 좋은 솔루션을 제공하고 있으며 새로운 블록체인을 만드는 것보다 이를 사용하는 것이 더 효율적일 수 있다고 말했습니다.

The news comes as Tether has been making changes to the blockchains that support USDT. Recently, the company announced that it would be dropping support for some platforms while expanding to others.

이 소식은 Tether가 USDT를 지원하는 블록체인을 변경하면서 나왔습니다. 최근 회사는 일부 플랫폼에 대한 지원을 중단하고 다른 플랫폼으로 확장할 것이라고 발표했습니다.

However, while a stablecoin launch may not be in the works, Tether is still looking to expand in other areas.

One of Tether’s upcoming projects includes the launch of a new stablecoin pegged to the United Arab Emirates Dirham (AED). The launch will be in collaboration with Phoenix Group PLC, a leading UAE tech conglomerate, and Green Acorn Investments Ltd.

Tether의 향후 프로젝트 중 하나에는 아랍에미리트 디르함(AED)에 고정된 새로운 스테이블 코인 출시가 포함됩니다. 이번 출시는 UAE의 선도적인 기술 대기업인 Phoenix Group PLC와 Green Acorn Investments Ltd.와 협력하여 진행될 예정입니다.

The stablecoin will be pegged to the AED and will combine the stability of the Dirham with the technological benefits of blockchain. The launch of the Dirham-pegged stablecoin will also mark the first application under the Payment Token Services Regulation, recently introduced by the UAE Central Bank.

스테이블코인은 AED에 고정되며 디르함의 안정성과 블록체인의 기술적 이점을 결합합니다. 디르함 고정 스테이블코인의 출시는 UAE 중앙은행이 최근 도입한 결제 토큰 서비스 규정에 따른 첫 번째 적용 사례이기도 합니다.

The launch of the Dirham-pegged stablecoin is expected to provide users with protection against currency fluctuations, facilitate international trades, and streamline remittances.

디르함 고정 스테이블코인의 출시는 사용자에게 환율 변동으로부터 보호하고, 국제 거래를 촉진하며, 송금을 간소화할 것으로 예상됩니다.

According to projections, the Dirham-pegged stablecoin is also expected to contribute significantly to the growth of the stablecoin market, which is currently valued at $180 billion and is anticipated to reach $2.8 trillion by 2028.

예측에 따르면, 디르함 고정 스테이블코인은 현재 1,800억 달러 규모로 평가되고 2028년에는 2조 8,000억 달러에 이를 것으로 예상되는 스테이블코인 시장의 성장에도 크게 기여할 것으로 예상됩니다.
